OF PUBLIC FINANCE TO DEDUCT FROM ALL DELINQUENT TAX BILLS FOR '1'HE
FIRST HALF; OF THE TAXES FOR 1932, THE PENALTY THEREON OF TEN
(10%) PER CENT, AND INTEREST, PROVIDED SAID TAXES ARE PAID BEFORE
THE TWENTY FIRST DAY OF JULY, 1932.
!`WHEREAS, a certain financial calamity occurred in the
City of Paducah during the month of October, 1931, thereby making
it impossible for many tax payers to meet their subsequent tax
maturities and
WHEREAS, it has been announced that a distribution of
a portion of deposit funds is to be released to numerous depositors
in the City of Paducah shortly after July 5th, 1932 and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of
Paducah desires to afford as many of the tax payers as possible
the opportunity of paying their city advalorem taxes without the
additional burden of a penalty and interest, and pursuant to the
authority vested in the Board of Commissioners by Section 3235-c
-12, Kentucky Statutes, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COidT.ISSIONERS OF THE CITY
OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That because of the conditions set forth in the preamble
hereto, the Commissioner of Public Finance is hereby authorized
and empowered to deduct from all ad valorem tax bills for taxes
due for the first half of the year 1932, the penalty and interest
thereon and to receive the net amount of said ad valorem tax
without the penalty and interest, the same as if paid in the month
of June, for said first half of said year, provided said taxes are
paid before the 21st day of July, 1932 and the action of said
Commissioner of Public Finance in so deducting said penalty and
interest, and in receiving the net amount of said taxes on said
tax bills for the first half of the year 1932 is hereby authorized,
directed and ratified fully as to each penalty and interest so
eliminated and each tax bill so receipted prior to the twenty first
day of July, 1932.
SECTION 2.
This resolution shall be operative upon its adoption and
shall cover all ad valorem taxes paid prior to the twenty first day
of July, 1932 on bills for the first half of the e " 1932.
