AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING A DELINQUENT TAX COLLECTOR FOR
THE CITY 0 PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, FIXING HIS TFRIrt OF OFFICE, HIS
DUTIES, HIS P0.°VERS, IIIS COMPENSATION, AND PROVIDIIZG FOR HIS BOND
AND FOR THE FURNISTTING OF A LIB T TO HIM FOR SUCH TAX CLAM'S TO BE
HARTDLED BY HIM AS DF,LINQUENT TAX COLIECTOR.
WHEREAS, the collection of all delinquent tax bills and
claims having been placed by ordinance in the hands of the Mayor
and Board of Commissioners;
AND, 17HEREAS, there now exists an accumulation of
delineuent ad valorem tax bills, poll taxes and other tax claims
'due to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and the services of a
delinquent tax collector are necessary in order to attend to the
collection of said tax bills and tax claims above referred to;
AND, T.'VHEREAS, Section 3188, Carrollis Kentucky Statutes,
provides for the appointment, by the Mayor and Board of
Commissioners, of a delinquent tax collector and the fixing of
his duties, powers, qualifications and compensation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED;
SECTION 1.
That Brady M. Stewart, a person and an attorney lawfully
qualified to hold said position, be, and he is hereby, appointed
delinquent tax collector for the City of Paducah, Kentucky, for
a period of two years, beginning January 4, 1932, and ending
January 4, 1934, and .for his services in aiding, assisting and
making collections of all delinquent ad valorem taxes, all poll
taxes, and such other tax claims as are referred to him by the
Mayor and. Board of Commissioners, he will be paid compensation
on such sums of money actually paid in and received by the City
of Paducah in an amount equal to 10% of the net tax, exclusive
of any penalty or interest thereon, of all delinquent ad valorem
and poll taxes, and such other tax claims as are referred to him
by the Mayor and Board of Commissioners, whether the same are
collected by him by suit or by demand.

All payments upon all delinquent ad valorem and poll
taxes, and such other tax claims as are referred to said
delinquent tax collector by the Mayor and Board of Commissioners
shall be made at the office of Commissioner of Public Finance;
and, as required by late, said delinquent tax collector shall
execute bond, the amount thereof being fixed at Two Thousand
($2,000.00) Dollars, which said bond shall be approved by the
Mayor.
SECTION 3.
By not later than February 1st of each year the
Commissioner of Public Finance shall furnish to said delinquent
tax collector a complete list of all delinquent ad valorem and
Doll taxes, together with all other tax claims to be handled by
him.
SECTION 4.
Said tax collector shall be paid monthly by the
Commissioner of Public Finance in the same manner as other city
officials are paid.
Section 5.
This Ordinance shall be effective from the date of its
passage ani publication.
