HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 9, Page 693, No Resolution NumberPage 693 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING TILE COP.'418SIONER OF PUBLIC FINANCE TO DEDUCT FROM ALL DELINQUENT LICENSE TAX BILLS AND AUTOMOBILE LICENSE BILLS FOR THE YEAR 1932 THE PENALTY THEREON OF TEN PER CENT (10a) PROVIDED SAID LICENSE TAXES ARE PAID BEFORE THE FIRST DAY OF MARCH 1932. '.'HEREAS on account of a certain financial c2lamity which occurred in the city of Paducah in the year 1931 it has made it difficult for many tax payers to meet their various tax payments and it being agreeable to the pledgee of said taxes for loans heretofore obtained that an inducement may be offered to the tax payers who are now delinquent on said taxes, that by allowing them to pay the net amount of said taxes before the first day of March 1932, and pursuant to the authority vested in the Board of Commissioners, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF C014MISSIONERS OF PADUCAH, EKTNCUKY: SECTION 1. That because of the conditions set forth in the preamble hereto, the Commissioner of Public Finance is hereby authorized and empowered to deduct from all License tax bills including automobile license tax bills due for the year 1932, the penalty thereon and to receive the net amount of said tax without the penalty, provided said taxes are paid before the first day of !.arch 1932, and the action of said Commissioner of Public Finance in so deducting said penalty and receiving net amount of said taxes on said license tax bills for the year 1932 is hereby authorized, directed and ratified fully as to each penalty so eliminated and each license tax bill so receipted prior to the first day of March 1932. SECTION 2. This resolution shall be operative from its adoption and shall cover all license taxes paid prior to the first) day of Merch 1932.
