A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE
COMMISSIONER OF PUBLIC FINANCE 1'O DEDUCT FROM ALL DELINQUENT TAX BILLS
FOR THE LAST HALF OF THE TAXES FOR 1931, THE PENALTY THFRFON OF TEN
Z10%) PER CFNT PER ANNUM AND INTEREST, PROVIDED SAID TAXES ARE PAID ON OR
BEFORE THE 12TH DAY OF DECEMBER, 1931.
WHEREAS, on account of a certain financial calamity
which has occurred in the City of Paducah during the month of October,
1931, and during the tax paying period for the tax due for the last half
of the year 1931, thereby making it impossible for mfr taxpayers to pay
their taxes bef6re the penalty prescribed by law should. go on said taxes,
and it being agreeable to the pledgee of said taxes for loans heretofore
obtained that an inducement may be offered to the taxpayers who are now
delinquent on said taxes, that by allowing them to pay the net amount
Of said taxes on or before the 12th day of December, 1931, and pursuant j
to the authority vested in the Board of Commissioners by Section 3235c-12,
Kentucky Statutes, THERFFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THF. BOARD OF COMMISSIONFRS
OF THE CITY OF PA.DUCAH, KENTUCKY -
SECTION 1.
That because of the conditions set forth in the
preamble hereto, the Commissioner of '.'ublic Finance is hereby authorized
and empowered to deduct from all tax bills for taxes due for the last
half of the year 1931, the panalty and interest thereon and to receive
the net amount of said tax without the penalty and interest for said
last half of said year, provided said taxes are paid on or before the
12th day of Lecember, 1931, and the action of said Commissioner of
Public Finance in so deducting said penalty and interest and receiving
the net amount of said taxes on said tax bills for the last half of the
year 1931 is hereby authorized, directed and ratified fully as to each
penalty and interest so eliminated and each tax bill so receipted on or
before the 12th day of December, 1931.
SECTION 2.
This resolution shall be operative upon its
adoption and shall cover all taxes paid on or before the 12th day of
December, 1931 on bills for the last half of the year /1931.
