A RESOLUTION AU'THOP.IZING AND DIRECTING THE COmmiSSIONER
• OF PUBLIC FINANCE TO DEDUCT FROM ALL DELINQUENT TAX BILLS FOR THE
LAST HALF OF TIME TAXES FOR 1931, THE PENALTY THEREON OF TEN (10%) PER
CENT, PROVIDED SAID I -AXES ARE PAID BEFORE T'T-T, FIRS'P DAY OF DECE-T.MR,
11931.
WHEREAS, on account of a certain financial calamity ;,hich i
as occurred in the City of Paducah during the month of October, 1931,
nd during the tax paying period for the tax due for the last half
f the year for 1931, thereby making, it impossible for many taxpayers
o nay their taxes before the penalty prescribed by law should go on
aid taxes, and it being agreeable_ to the pledgee of said taxes for
owns heretofore obtained that an inducement may be offered to the
axpayers who are now delinquent on said taxes, that by allowing them
D pay the net amount of said taxes before the first day of December,
931, and pursuant to the authority vested in the Board of
ommissioners by Section 3235c-12, Kentucky Statutes, THFFFFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY TILE BOARD OF CO1.1MISSIONERS
THE CITY OF PAD'JCAH, Kr.NZUCKY:
SECTION 1,
That because of the conditions set forth in the preamble
Lereto, the Commissioner of Public Finance is hereby authorized and
mposiexed to deduct from all tax bills for taxes due for the last
.alf of the year 1931, the penalty thereon and to receive the net
mount of said tax without the penalty for said last half of said
ear, provided said taxes are paid before the first day of December,
931, and the action of said Commissioner of Public Finance in so
educting said penalty and in receiving the net amount of said taxes
P. said tax bills for the last half of the year 1931 is hereby
uthorized, directed and ratified fully as to each penalty so
liminated and each tax bill so receipted prior to the first day of
ecember, 1931.
SECTION 2.
This resolution shall be operative upon its adoption and
shall cover all taxes paid prior to the first day of -December, 1931
on bills for the last half of the year 1931.
