WHFRFAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky has heretofore on the day of June, 1930 adopted an
ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCF PPOVIDTNG FOR THE CONSTRTTC"IODT OF
SIDEWALK PND rPIVFI",'AYS ON THF NORTTT SIDF OF JFFFFRSON 'TRF -T, FROM A
POINT AP?ROXIMATFLY 200 FFFT '°dFPT OF THF U7FST PROPFRTY LINE. OF T`"TENTY-
FIFTH STREET TO THE EAST CURB LINE OF 7:7ENTY-SFVFNTH STRFFT, IN THE
CITY OF PArUCAH, McCRACKFN COUNTY, KENTUCKY, +T1TH ALL NECESSARY
MANHOLES, INTAKES, CATCH BASINS, SE`7rR AND DRAIN PIPE, AND ALL
NrCESSARY FNGINEFRING, ADVERTISING AND LEGAL AND CLERICAL SERVICE IN

PROVIDING THAT SAME MAY BE CONSTRUCTED UPON THE TEN YEAR PAYMENT PLAN"
and
WHEREAS, in accordance with said ordinance it is provided.i.
that the cost of construction of said sidewalk and driveyaays, together
with all necessary manholes, intakes, catch basins, drain tile and
sewer pipe, and all necessary engineering, advertising and legal and
clerical service in connection therewith and all. other work done
there"rnder be paid for by the abutting property o,,•..ners on the north
side thereof, except that portion to be paid by the Citi" of Palucah as

required by .law, and
!VHFREAS, pursuant to said ordinance' a contract was
entered into on the day of ,1930 between F.L. Beyer,
Contractor, and the City of Paducah, Kentucky for the construction
thereof, and
VMEFEAS, said contract has in all respects been
completed and the work thereunder finished and accepted by the
Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah on the 4th day of
September, 1930, pursuant to notice duly Given and inspection
of said work and the recommendation of acceptance made therefor
by the Commissioner of Public 'i'orks of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, and pursuant to a motion made by said Commissioner, which
motion was duly adopted by the Board of Commissioners, Nalf,

SECTION 1.
That all of the property on the north side of
Jefferson street, from a point approximste17: 200 feet west of the
west property line of 25th street, to. the east curb line of 27th
street, in the City of Paducah, McCracken County, Kentucky, as
shown by the engineer's estimates, be, and the same is hereby
assessed for the cost of construction of a concrete sidewalk and
driveways, with all necessary manholes, intakes, catdh basins,
drain the and sewer pipe, and all necessary engineering,
advertising and legal and clerical service in connection therewith.
All of said work has been done under the ordinance and contract
aforesaid and said assessment is as follows, to-vrit:
Cost of concrete sidewalk................�0.1475 per sq. foot
Cost of concrete driveways ...............$0.19 per so. foot
Cost of 4" cast iron pipe................0.30 per lin, foot
Cost of expansion joints .................0.0279834024 Pur dollar

As shown by the engineer's estimates on file in the office of the
Commissioner of Public Works, which estimates are adopted and
made part hereof.
SECTION 2.
That all of the funds derived from the assessment
of said Droperty aforesaid shall be used for t' -,e Durpose of onying
off the tax bills issued ngninFt snicl property, or such bonds as

may be issued by the City of Paducah
pursuant to Section 3101 of the ,
Kentucky Statutes.

SECTION 3.
That pursuant to Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statutes, as
amended and re-enacted and now in force, said assessments may be, at
the option of the property o-^ners payable in cash within thirty days
from the date of the passing of this ordinance, or in ten annual
installments, pursuant to the provisions of said statutes.
SECTION 4.
In order to provide a fund for the immediate payment of the
cost of that portion of the special assessments herein provided for,
and wh
ich may be paid on the ten year installment plan as hereinbefore �
provided for, the City of Paducah may issue and sell improvement bonds,
and to secure the payment of which bonds there is hereby pledged such
taxes and liens upon the propFrty assessed herein for the payment of
the principal and interest on such bonds, but said bonds shall not be

sold for less than par, ^nd the proceeds thereof applied exclusively to
payment for the improvement of said street as hereinbefore mentioned, and
such bonds, if issued, shall bear interest and shall be onyable in

accordance with the provisions of Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statutes,
as smen0ed and re-enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky and now in force and effect.
SECTION 5.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its passage, record ^nd publication.
