WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of
Paducah, Kentucky has heretofore on the 13th day of May, 1929
adopted an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION AND RECONSTRUCTION OF TFE DTRVFWAY ON JRrFFRSON STRFFT,
FROM THE ':FEST PROPFFTY LITiF OF 32ND STRFFT TO ITS JUNCTION WITH
35TH STRFFT; AND 35TH STR'RT, FROM ITS JUNCTION WITH JEPFFP.SON STREET
TO THE SOUTH PROPERTY LINF OF CENTRAL AVrNUE, IN THF CITY OF
PADUCAH, MOCRACKEN COUNTY, KENTUCKY, "LITH AT:I. NECESSARY CURB, GUTTER,
DRIVEMAYS, MANHOLES, INTAKES, CATCH BASINS AND SEFIFR PIPE, AND ALL
NECESSARY ENGINEERING, ADVFRTI,ING AND LrG&.L AND CLERICAL SERVICE

WHEREAS, in accordance with said ordinance it is provided
that the cost of construction of said driveway, together with all
necessary curb, gutter, driveways, manholes, intakes, catdh basins, drain
tile and sewer pipe, and all necessary engineering, advertising and .legal
and clerical service in connection therewith and all other work done
thereunder be paid for by the abutting property ormers on both sides
thereof, except that portion to be paid by the City of Paducah as
required by law, amd
7RFREAS, rursuant to said ordinance a contract was entered
into on the 19th day of August, 1929, between Carey -Reed Company,
Contractors, and the City of Paducah, Kentucky, for the construction

1'HEP.EAS, said contract has in all respects been completed
and the work thereunder finished and accepted by the Board of Co missionei
of the City of Paducah on the ,1930, pursuant
to notice duly given and inspection of said ork and the recommendation
of acceptance made therefor by the Commissioner of Public 'llorks of the
City of Paducah, Kentucky, and pursuant to a motion made by said
Commissioner, which motion w?s culy adopted by the Board of Commissioners,

SrCTION 1.
That all of the proparty on both sides of Jefferson street,
from the wrest property line of 32nd street to its junction with 35th
street; and 35th street, from its ,junction with Jefferson street, to the
south property line of Central Avcnue, in the City of Paducah, McCracken
County, Kentucky, as shown by the Engineer's estimates, be, and the same
is hereby assessed for the cost of construction of an improved, or
asphalt street with all necessary curb, gutter, driveways, manholes,
intakes, catch basins, drain tile and sewer Pipe, and all necessary
engineering, advertising ^nd legal and clerical service in connection
therewith. All of said work has been done under the ordinance and
contract aforesaid and said assessment is es follows, to-rrit;

As shown by the Engineer's estimates on file in the office of the
Commissioner of Public Works, which estimates are adopted and made
Is part hereof.
SECTION 2.
That all of the funds derived from the assessment of said
property aforesaid shall be. used for the purpose of paying off the
tax bills issued against said property, or such bonds as may be
issued by the City of Paducah pursuant to Section 3101 of the
Kentucky Statutes.
SECTION 3.
That pursuant to Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statutes
as amended and re-enacted and no- in force, said assessments may be,
at the option of the property o-ners, payable in cash within thirty
days from the ?ate of the passinF- of this ordinance, or in ten
annual installments, pursuant to the provisions of said Statutes.
SECTION 4.
In order to provide a fund for the immediate payment
of the cost of that portion of the special assessments herein
provided for, and which may be paid on the ten year installment
plan, as hereinbefore provided for, the City of Paducah may issue
and sell improvement bonds, an,l to secure the n^yment of which
bonds there is hereby pledged such taxes and liens upon the property
assessed herein for the payment of the nrincipal -ind interest
on such bonds, but said bonds shpil not be sold for less than par,
and the proceeds th.•ercof applied exclusively to p-,yment for the
improvement of said street as hereinbefore mentioned, and such bongs,
if issued, shall bear interest and shall be payable in accordance
with the provisions of Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statutes, as
amended and re-enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky and no- in force and effect.
SECTION 5.
This ordinance shill take effect ^nd be in force from and
after its passage.
