HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 9, Page 527, No Ordinance NumberPage 527 - �o AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE LEVY OR RATE OF TAXATION ON PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, FOR THE YEAR 1930, AND THE RATE OF THE POLL TAX, WITH THE PURPOSE OF SAID LEVY THEREUNDER DEFINED. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PA UUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That there is hereby levied for the year 1930, upon the taxable property within the City of Paducah, Kentucky, real and personal, an ad valorem tax of One Dollar and 50/100 ($1.50) Cents, pursuant to Section 157 of the State Constitution. and One Dollar (1.�0), pursuant to the State Constitution and Statutes of Kentucky to defray the expenses of maintaining the schools, and Ten ($0.10) Cents, pursuant to said Constitution and Statutes for the purpose of paying the interest on the School Improvement Bonds and to create a Sinking Fund for the payment of said Bonds at matmfity, making a total of Two and 60/100 ($2.60) Dollars on each One Hundred Dollars :vorth of real estate and personal property in the City of Paducah, Kentucky; and there is also hereby levied a poll tax of One and 50,100 (,$1.50) Dollars on each male resident of the City of Paducah over 21 years of age for the year 1930. SECTION 2. That the rate of taxation for each item of expenditure, as heretofore apportioned and set out by ordinance, shall be on each One Hundred Dollars worth of property as follows, to -wit: Department of Public Affairs.... $ .2628 cents Department of Public works ...... .3150 " Department of Public Safety .... .3163 " Department of Public Property... .2804 Department of Public Finance.... .3255 " Schools.: .. . . 1.00 Interest,Bonds and SinkingFund. .10 i � _ .6000 SEETION 3. That all revenues derived from licenses or other sources collected and paid to the Commissioner of Public Finance, shall be distributed to their respective accounts in the same proportion as the ad valorem tax, as hereinbefore provided for, except sources of revenue which have not been considered in making up the apportionment ordinance and in the event of the collection of any revenue which was not considered in m^king up said apportionment ordinance, then such revenue shall be credited to the general fund. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, record and publication.
