HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 9, Page 521, No Ordinance Number.-f.. Page 52.1 AN ORDINANCE CLOSING CERTAIN TARTS OF LABELLE AVENUE BETWEEN BROADWAY AND JFF77RSON STREETS IN THF CITY OF PADUCAH. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONFRS OF TAF CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTU"KY: SECTION 1. That a certain part of LaBelle Avenue in the City of Paducah, Kentucky lying north of Broadway Street and west of LaBelle Avenue and as herein in this section described, be closed and abandoned, and that some revert to and be the property of abutting property owners abutting said strip on the north side of Broadway Street and on the West side of LaBelle Avenue, and which strip of ground so abandoned is particularly described as follows, to -wit: Beginning at a point on the west side of LaBelle Avenue at the junction with Broadway Street and on the north side of Broadway Street as now established, which point is approximately 98.8 feet east- wardly from 32nd Street; thence in a northerly direction and along the old property line of LaBelle Avenue -as the some -was shown on the plat of the 111�st End Improvement Company, unrecorded, 177 feet more or less to a point where said Droperty line intersects the south line of the '.Nest End Improvement Company's lot; thence in an easterly direction and along the south line of the said 'West End Improvement Company's lot 12 feet more or less to the'west property line of LaBelle Avenue as now constructed and established; thence in a southerly -lirection and along the west property line of LaBelle Avenue as now constructed and established to the north nrooerty line of Broadway Street as originally established and dedicated; thence in a southwesterly direction with the said original line of Broadway Street as originally established and dedicated to the point of ieginning. It being the purpose of this ordinance to close that part of the originally dedicated street now known as LaBelle Avenue and lying west of said LaBelle Avenue as now constructed and established, and extending to the north line of Broadway Street as originally established, the said part of Broadway Street lying north of the present established driveway having heretofore been closed by ordinance and appropriate proceedings by the Board of Cormmissioners of the City of Paducah, and by a judgment of the McCracken Circuit Court. SECTION 2. The City Solicitor is hereby authorized and directed to immediatelf file suit in McCracken Circ�iit Court for the Durpose of carrying into effect the provisions of this'ordinance and closing said unused and discontinued part of said street as described in Section'l hereof so that said closed part of said street shall revert to the abutting property owner on the vest side of said street.
