WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City o: Paducal
Kentucky has heretofore on the 15th day of Anril, 1929 adopted an
ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE PFOVIDING F( -,R THE CONSTRUCTION AND
RFCONST'FUCTION OF RITE DRIVEINAY ON BFIrGE STrFFT, FROM THE !TEST END OF
THE ISLAND CREFK BFIDGE TO THE WEST PROPERTY LINE. OF BROAD STREET,
INCLUDING THE INTERSECTION AT BRIDGE AND BROAD STREETS, IN THF: CIT'Y OF

WHEREAS, in accordance with said ordinance it is provided
hat the cost of construction of said driveway, together with all

Lecessary curb, gutter, driveways, manholes, intakes, catch basins,
[rain tile and sewer pipe, and all necessary engineering, advertising
ind legnl and clerical service in connection therewith and all other
cork done thereunder be raid for by the abutting property owners on
)oth sides thereof, except that portion to be paid by the City of
?aducah as recuired by law, and
VVPFREAS, pursuant to said ordinance a contract was
:ntered into on the day of 1929, between the
Southern Roads Company, Contractors, and the City of Paducah,
Kentucky for the construction thereof, and
IPMEREAS, said contract has in all respects been
completed and the work thereunder finished and accepted by the Board
of Commissioners of the City of Paducah on the 4th day of December,
1929, pursuant to notice duly given and inspection of said work and
the recommendation of acceptance made therefor by the Commissioner
of Public 71orks of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and pursuant to
a motion made by said Commissioner, wl ich motion was duly adopted
by the Board of Commissioners, Na!!, THTPFFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COM4IFSIONFRS
OF THF CI7Y OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That all of the property on both sides of Bridge
Street, from the west end of the Island Creek Bridge to the west
property line of Broad Street, including the intersection at
Bridge and Broad Streets, in the City of Paducah, PicCracken County,
Kentucky, as shown by the Engineer's Estimates, be, and the same is
hereby assessed for the cost of construction of an improved or
asphalt street, with all necessary curb, gutter, driveways, manholes,
intakes, catch basins, drain tile and sewer pipe, and all necessary
engineering, advertising and legal and clerical service in connection
therewith. All of said work has been done under the ordinance and
contract aforeaid and said assessment is as follows, to -wit:

As shown by the Engineervs Estimates on file in the office of the
Commissioner of Public "Forks, which estimates are adopted and made part

ereof.
SECTION 2.
That all of the funds derived from the assessment of said
property aforesaid shall be used for the purpose of paying 6ff the tax
bills issued against said property, or such bonds as may be issued by the
City of Paducah pursuant to Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statutes.
SECTION 3.
That pursuant to Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statutes, as
amended and re-enacted and now in force, said asses-ments may be, at the
option of the prorerty owners, payable in cash within thirty days from
the date of the passing and recording of this ordinance, 6r in ten
annual installments, pursuant to the provisions of said Statutes.
SFCTION 4.
In order to provide a fund for the immediate payment of the
cost of that portion of the special assessments herein provided for,
and which may be paid on the ten year installment plan, as hereinbefore
provided for, the.City df Paducah may issue and sell improvement bonds;
an(' to secure the payment of vrhich bonds there is hereby pledged such
taxes and liens upon the property assessed herein for the payment of
the principal and interest on such bonds, but said bonds shall not be
sold for less than par and the proceeds thereof applied exclusively
to payment for the improvement of said street as hereinbefore mentioned,
and such bonds, if issued, shall bear interest and shall be payable in
accordance with the provisions of Section 3101 cf the Kentucky Statutes,
as amended and re-enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of
Kentucky and now in force and effect.
SECTION 5.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its passage, record and publication.
