MAY BE PAID IN TEN EQUAL INSTALLMENTS, BEING ONE EACH YEAR FOR. A PERIOD
OF TEN YEARS.
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky has heretofore on the 8th day of April, 1929 adopted an
ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE FROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND
RFCONSTFUCTION OF THF DRIVEfAY ON 19TH STRFFT, FROM THF NORTH PF.OPFRTY
LINE OF BROADTAY TO THE SOUTH PROPFFTY LINT OF JFFF'FRFON STREET; AND ON
20TH STRFFT, FROM THE NORTH PFOPI'R'.lY LINE OF BROAD'FAY TO THE SOUTH
PFOPERTY LINF OF JFFFFRFON STRFFT; AND ON 21ST STRFFT, FROM THE NORTH
PROPERTY LINE OF BROAD!'lAY TO THF FOU'iH PFOPFFTY LINF OF JEFFERSON FT'RFFT;

'ifflFREAS, in accordance with said ordinance it is provided
that the cost of construction of said driveway, together rith all
necessary curb, gutter, driveways, manholes, intakes, catch basins,
drain tile and sewer pipe, and a17 necessary engineering, advertising
and legal and clerical service in connection therewith and sail other
work done thereunder be paid for by the abutting property owners
on both sides thereof., except that portion to be paid by the City
of Paducah as required by law, and
`.'lHEREAS, pursuant to said ordinance, a contract was
entered into on the day of _1929 between the
Southern Foads Company, contractors, and the City of Paducah,
Kentucky for the construction thereof, and
WHEREAS, said contract has in all respects been completed
and the work thereunder fihnished and accepted by the Board of
Commissioners of the City of Paducah pn the 27th day of November,
1929, pursuant to notice duly given and inspection of said work
and the recommendation of acceptance made therefor by the Commission-
er of Public "'orks of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and pursuant
to a motion made by SW Commissioner, which motion was duly
adopted by the Board of Commissioners, NU.", THFRFFOFF,

OF THF CITY Or PADUCAH, KENTUCKY;
SECTION 1.
That all of the property on both sides of 19th Street,
from the North property line of Broadway to the South property line
of Jefferson Street; and on 20th Street, from the north property
line of Broadway to the south property line of Jefferson Street;
and on 21st Street, from the north property line of Broadway to
the south property line of Jefferson Street; and on 22nd Street,
from the north property line of Broadway to the south property line
of Jefferson Street; and on 23rd Street, from the north property
line of Broadway to the south Droperty line of Jefferson Street;
. and on 24th Street, from the north property line of Broadway to the
south property line of Jefferson Street, in the City of Paducah,
McCracken County, Kentucky, as shown by the Engineer`s Estimates,
be, and the same is hereby assessed for the cost of construction
of an improved, or asphalt street with alt necessary curb, gutter,

driveways, manholes, intat-es, catch basins, drain tile and sewer pipe, andj

all necessary engineering:, advertisinfr and legal and clerical service in
connection therewith. All of said work has been done under the
ordinance and contract aforesaid and said assessment is as follows, to -wit:

ICommissicner of Public Works, which estimates are adopted and made part

SECTION 2.
That all of the funds derived from the assessment of said
property aforesaid shall be used for the purpose of paying off the tax
bills issued against said property, or such bonds as may be issued by the
City of Paducah pursuant to Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statutes.
SFCTION 3.
That pursuant to Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statutes, as
amended and re-enacted and now in force, said assessments may be, at the
option of the property owners, payable in cash within thirty days from
the date of the passing and recording of this ordinance, or in ten
annu@Ll installments, pursuant to the provisions of said statutes.
SECTION 4.
In order to provide a fund for the immediate payment of
the cost of that portion of the special assessments herein provided for,
and which may be paid on the ten year installment plan, as hereinbefore
provided for, the City of Paducah may issue and sell improvement bonds,
and to secure the payment of which bonds there is hereby pledged such
taxes and liens upon the property assessed herein for the payment of the
principal and interest on such bonds, but said bonds shall not be sold
for less than par, and the proceeds thereof applied exclusively to
payment for the improvement of said street as hereinbefore mentioned,
and such bonds, if issued, shall bear interest and shall be payable
in accordance with the provisions of Section 3101 of the Kentucky
Statutes, as amended and re-enabted by the General Assembly of the
Commonwealth of Kentucky and now in force and effect.
SECTION 5.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from a
after its passage, record and publication.
