WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky has heretofore on the 8th day of April, 1929 adopted an
ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION
AND RECONSTRUCTION OF THE DRIVEWAY ON NORTH NINTH STRFFT FROM THE
SOUTH PROPFRTY LINE OF MADISON STREET TO THE SOUTH PROPERTY LINE OF
CLAY STREET: AND ON EIGHTH STREFT FROM THE SOUTH PROPERTY LINE OF
MADIFON STRFFT TO THE NORTH PROPERTY LINE OF BURNFTT STREET, EXCEPT
THE INTERSECTION AT STH AND CLAY STREETS; AND ON MADISON STRFFT
FROM THE WEST PROPERTY LINE OF EIGHTH STRFFT 1'O THE EAST PROPFRTY

THAT SAME MAY BE CONSTRUCTED UPON THF TPN YEAR PAYMENT PLAN', and

Provided that the cost of construction of said driveway, together with all'AML
necessary curb, gutter, driveways, manholes, intakes, catch basins, drain
tile and sewer pipe, and all necessary engineering, advertising and
legal and clerical service in connection therewith and all other work
done thereunder be paid for by the abutting property o^.hers on both sides
thereof, except that portion to be paid by the city of Paducah as
recuired by law, and

the Southern Roads Company, contractors, and the City of Paducah,
Kentucky for the construction thereof, and
117HEREAS, said contract has in all respects been
completed and t e work thereunder finished and accepted by the Board of
Commissioners of the City of Paducah on the 27th day of November, 1929,
pursuant to notice duly given and inspection of said work and the
recommendation of acceptance made therefor by the Commissioner of Public
Works of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, mmd pursuant to a motion made by
said Commissioner, which motion was duly adopted by the Board of.

OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY.
SECTION 1.
That all of the property on both sides of Ninth Street,
from the south property line of Madison Street to the south property
line of Clay Street; and on Eighth Street, from the south property line
of Madison Street to the north property line of Burnett Street, except
the intersection at 8th and Clay Streets; and on Madison Street, from
the west property line of 8th Street to the east property line of 9th
Street, in the City of Paducah, McCracken County, Kentucky, as shown by
the Engineer's Estimates, be, and the same is herebi> assessed for the
;ost of construction of an improved, or asphalt street with all necessary
;urb, gutter, driveways, manholes, intakes, etch basins, drain tile

As shown by the Engineer's estimates on file in the office of the
Commissioner of Public '"forks, which estimates are adopted and'made
part hereof.
SECTION 2.
That all of the funds derived from the assessment of said
property aforesaid shall be used for the purpose of paying off the
tax bills issued against said property, or such bonds as may be
issued by the City of Paducah pursuant to Section 3101 of the
Kentucky Statutes.

That pursuant to Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statutes, as
amended and re-enacted and now is force, said asses ments may be,
at the option of the property owners, -payable in cash within thirty
days from the date of the passing and recording of this ordinance,
or in ten annual installments, pursuant to the provisions of said
Statutes.
SPCTION 4.
In order to provide a fund for the immediate payment of the
cost of that portion of the special assessments herein provided
for, and which may be paid on the ten year installment plan, as
hereinbefore provided for, the City of Paducah may issue and sell
improvement bonds, and to secure the payment of �%bich bonds there
Is hereby pledged such taxes and liens upon the property assessed
herein for the payment of the principal and interest on such bonds,
but said bonds shall not be sold for less than par and the proceeds
thereof applied exclusively to payment for the improvement of said
street as hereinbefore mentioned, and such bonds, if issued, shall
bear interest and shall be payable in accordance with the provisions
of Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statutes, as amended and re -
by the General Assembly of the Commom:aealth of Kentucky and
force and effect,.
SECTION 5.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force fro
after its passage, record and publication.
