VHFRFI S, the Board of Commissioners of the City of
Paducah, Kentucky has heretofore on the 8th day of October, 1928 adopted
an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE PFOVIDING FOR THE IMPFOVTMFNT
OF NORTH THIFTEENTH STREET, FROM THF '.VEST CURB LINE• OF ATKINS LV -NUE
TO THE PRESENT CITY LIMIT LINE, SJHICH LINE. IS APPROXIMATELY 149 FF.FT
WEST OF THE WEST PROPERTY LINE OF FEED AVFNUE, IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
McCRACKEN COUNTY, KENTUCKY, BY GRADING AND GRAVULING OF SAME, TOGFTHE•R
WITH ALL NECFSSAPY F`GINEI-F:ING,-DVERTI.'ING 'ND LEG1.L AND CLERICAL
SERVICE IN CONrECTION TF RF.'YITH AT THE COST OF THE ABUTTING PROPFRTY

WHEREAS, in accordance Frith said ordinance it is
provided that the cost of construction of s,id gravel street and all
other work done thereunder, and X11 necessary engineering, advertising
and legal and clerical service in connection therewith, be paid far by
the abutting property owners on both sides thereof, except that portion
to be paid by the City of Paducah as required cy law, and
WIIEPEAS, pursuant to said ordinance, a contract was
entered into on the day of 1928, between Duke 1"lilliams,
Contractor, and the Oity of Paducah, Kentaicky for the construction
thereof, and

_1;!HFREAS, said contract h9s in all respects been
. completed and the work thereunder finished and accepted by the
Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, on the 17th day of
October, 1929, pursuant to notice duly given and inspection of said
work and the recommendation rf acceptance made therefor by the
Commissioner of Public Works of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and
pursuant to a motion made by said Commissioner, which motion was
duly adopted by the Board of Commissioners, NO71, TU REFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED PY THF BOARD OF COMMIS,1IONERS
OF THE CITY OF PcLUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That all of the property on both sides of North
Thirteenth Street, from the west curb line of Atkins Avenue to th
W esent city limit line, which line is approximately 149 feet west
of the west property line of Heed Avenue, in the City of Paducah,
McCracken County, Kentucky, as shown by the Engineer's Estimates,
be, and the same is hereby assessed for the cost of construction
of a gravel street, and a 1 necessar-y engineering, advertising
and legal and clerical service in connection therewith. All of said
work has been done under the or(-Iinance and contract aforesaid and
said assessment is as follows, to -wit:
Gravel Street - 39 Ft, in width $1.57.1 per abutting ft.
Cost of Engineering and Inspection.$0.01307406 per dollar construct-
ion cost
Cost of Interest ...................$0.00894048 per dollar construct-
ion cost.
As shown by the Engineers Estimates on file in the office of the
Commissioner of Public Works, which estimates are adopted and m^de
part hereof.
SECTION 2.
That all of the funds derived from the assessment of said
property aforesaid shall be used for the purpose of paying off the
tax bills issued against said property, or such bonds as may be
issued by the City of Paducah pursuant to Section 3101 of the
Kentucky Statutes
SECTION 3.
That pursuant to Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statutes,
as amended and re-enacted and now in force, said assessments may be,
at the option of the property owners, p,yable in cash within thirty
days from the daye of the passing qrd recording of this ordinance,
or in ten annual installments, pursuant to the provisions of said
Statutes.
SECTION 4.
In order to provide a fund for the immediate payment of
the cost of that portion of the special assesTments herein provided

for, and which may be paid on the ten year installment plan, as herein-
before provided for, the City of Paducah may issue and sell improvement
bonds, and to secure the payment of which bonds there is hereby pledged
such taxes and liens upon the property assessed herein for the payment
of the principal andinterest on such bonds, but said bonds shall not
be sold for less than par, and the proceeds thereof applied exclisively
to payment for the improvement of said street as hereinbefore mentioned,
and such bonds, if issued, shall bear interest and shall be payable in
accordnnee with the provision, of Section 3101 of the Kentucky
Statutes, as amerd ed and re-enacted by the General Assembly of the
Common:,realth of Kentucky and no,,,,, in force and effect.
SECTION 5.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force.from
and after its passage, record and publication.
