INHEREAS, the General Council of the City of Paducah,
Yentucky, has heretofore, to -wit: on the day of 1927,
adopted an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE IM PROVEhiENT
OF BAU1,1ER AVENUE, OR "A" STREET, FROM THE NORTH PROPERTY LINT OF 5.7IEFLER
ADDITION TO THE WEST CURB LINE OF 16TH STREET, IN -THE CITY OF PADUCAH,:
KENTUCKY, BY THE GRADING AND GRAVELING OF SPME, TOGETHER '''ITH ALL
NECESSARY MANHOLES, INTAKES, CATCH BASINS AND SE'.`!ER PIPE CONNECTIONS, IN
ACCORDAIiCE "'ITH THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS PROVIDED THEREFOR BY THE i
QITY ENGINEER, AT THE, COLT OF THE ABUTTING PROPERTY OiINERS, AND PROVIDING
TFL^.T THE COST OF' SUCH CONSTRUCTION MAY BE PAID IN ACCORDANCE 'WITH THE

IN ACCORDANCE '7ITH THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS PROVIDED THEREFOR BY THE
CITY EI•IGINEER, AT THE COST OF THE ABUTTING PROPERTY OC'NERS, AND PROVIDING
THAI THF COST OF SUCII CONSTRUCTION I'AY BE PAID IN ACCORDANCE !:'ITH THE
PROVISIONS OF' THF: TEN YEAR PAYMENT PLAN; and
17HEREAS, in accordance vith said ordinance, it was
provided ti,at the cost of the construction of said streets be paid for
by the abutting pboperty owners on both sides thereof, except that port
to be paid by the City of Paducah, as required by law, and
'JHrREAS, pursuant to said ordinance a contract was
entered into on the day of 1927, between Fraser
5. Cocke, Contractors, and the City of Paducah, Kentucky, for the con -
struction thereof, and

'.7HEREAS, said contract has in all respects been com-
rleted and the work thereof finished and accepted by the Eoard of
Commissioners of the City 0" Paducah, hen-ucky 6n the 16th day of
April, X928, pu'rstiiant to the recommendation made therefor by the
Commissioner of Public .7orks of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and
pursuant to a motion made by said Commissioner, which motion was
duly adopted by the Beard of Commissioners; IO',7, T1EREPORE,

CITY OF PA i)UCAH, KENTUCI.Y:
SECTION 1.
That all of the nroperty on both sides of ".'heeler
Avenue (or 20th St.) from the -outh property .line of Jackson Street
to the "lest property line of "B" Street, and on "A" Street,
(or Baumer Avenue), from the Nprtb property line of ':!heeler Sub -
Division to the ':.'est curb line of 16th Street, in the City of
Paducah, Kentucky, be and the same is hereby assessed for the cost
of the construction of said streets the sum of "'1.60 per abtitting
foot; and for interest and extra work 00.018557680 per abutting foot;
and for engineering x70.027583670 per abutting foot, by grading and
graveling same, as shoi^m by the Engineerts estimates on file in the
Office of the Commissioner of Public ":!orks, which estimates are
made part hereof.
SECTION 2,
That all of the funds derived from the assessment of
said property aforesaid shall be used.for the purpose of paying
Off tha tax bills issued a�7ainst said property, or such bonds as
may be issued by the City of Paducah pursuant to Section 3101 of
the Kentucky Statutes'.
Si•CTION 3.
That pursuant to Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statates,
Ias amended and re-enacted and now in force, said assessments may
be, at the option of the property owners, payable in cash within
thirty days from the date of the passing and recording of this
ordinance, or in ten annual installments, pursuant to the provisicns
Of said Statutes.
SECTION 4. I
In order to provide a fund for the immediatee I
p yment
of the cost of that portion of the special assessments herein
provided for, and which may be paid on the ten year :instillment plan,l
as hereinbefore provided for, the City of Paducah may issue and
sell improvement b,nds, and to secure the payment of which bonds,
there if hereby pledged such taxes and liens upon the property

assessed herein for the payment of the principal and interest on such
bonds, but such bonds shall not be sold for less than par, and the pro-
ceeds thereof applied exclusively Iro Payment for the improvement of
said streets as hereinbefore mentioned, and such bonds, if iesued, shall
bear interest, and shall bo payable in accordance with the provisions
of Section 3101 of the ::entucky Statutes, as amended and re-enacted
by the General Assembly of the Go mnonwealth of Kentucky and now in force
and effect.
SECTIOI'd 5.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its passage, record and publication.
