AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING PETITIONS OF PROPERTY O71NERS
IN BLOCK NO.31, WEST END ADDITION, AND APPROVING AND ADOPTING PLAT ON
THE ALLEY IN SAID ADDITION AND DEFINING AND DESCRIBING SAID ALLEY.
WHEREAS, the owners of all of the property in Block No.
31 of the West End Improvement Company's addition to the City of Paducah,
Kentucky have tendered to the City their petition calling attention to
the fact that the alley -way as originally defined in said block was
described as being 25 feet in width, and that the property owners who
acquired all of the property ablatting upon said alley -way have so
constructed their fences and outbuildings as to recognize an alley only
15 feet in width, and that said property was outside the corporate limits
of the City of Paducah at the time the same was platted and at the time
same was built up and improved, and the said alley -way so established as
being 15 feet in width, and the said established alley -way having
continued for more than fifteen years as described in the petition of
said property oemers before the same was annexed to the city and made a
Part thereof, and before the same became subject to the charter provisions
of the city, and G.C.Appleton, Civil Engineer, having prepared and
presented a plat of said block, showing the location and description of
said alley as the same now exists and as the same existed when said
property was taken into the City of Paducah, and it being the desire of
the City of Paducah to recognize the existance of said alley as it now
exists and as the same has been established by the owners of said
property in said block, NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE. BOARD OF CWMISSIONFRS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY;
SECTION 1.
That the petitions of the property owners owning all of
the property in Block No.31 of the West End Improvement Company's
addition to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, respecting the description and
location of the alley -way in said block, be now received and filed and
approved by the Board of Commissioners, and that the plat, or survey,
establishing said alley as the same now exists, as prepared by G.C.
Appleton, Civil Engineer, be received,filed, adopted and approved as the
proper description of said alley; that the center line of said alley be,
and the some is hereby declared to be, the center line as established in
said survey and plat by G.C.Appleton and shown in blue cb tted line upon
said plat, and that the alley consisting of a 7; foot strip of ground
on either side of said dotted line so as to make and estallish said alley
L5 feet in width throughout its length. That said alley thus established
3xtends from 31st Street, between Kentucky Avenue and Clark Street, to
,'lark Street, and the center line of said alley begins at a poing'in the
lorth property line of Clark Street, which point is 317.8 feet from the

intersection of the North property line of Clark Street and the 'Rest
pronerty line of 31st Street; thence turning an angle of 1250281 to
the right for 101 and 35-100 feet; thence turning an angle of 581
to the right for 144.4 feet; thence turning an angle of 20571 to the
right for 266.5 feet; thence turning an angle of 500451 for 4 and
35-100 feet to a point in the Vgest property line of 31st Street,
which point is 207.5 feet from the intersection of the West property
line of 31st Street and the South property line of ISentucky Avenue.
SECTION 2.
On account of the fact that said alley thnough said block
was established according to the description in Section 1 hereof
by common consent of the orners of the property therein before said
block of property was annexed to t1 -B City of Paducah, and all of the
rights of the persons therein were vested and established and
existing at the time the s.^id property was annexed to the City of
Paducah, the description and definition of said alley, as set forth
in Section 1 hereof, is now made by the Board of Commissioners of
the City of Paducah for the purpose of quieting the title thereto
and settling any controversy that may exist respecting laid alley,
and fixing and locating the width thereof by the city.
SECTION 3.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force upon
its passage.
