I EMPLOYMENT.
WHEREAS, all. of the employes of the City of Paducah are
paid out of moneys contributed to the City government by the tax payers
of the City of Paducah, and
!IIiFRFAS, said tax payers frequently, and in considerable
number, extend credit to the employes of the City on the faith of their
employment by the City, and it is necessary for the protection of the
(citizens so extending such credit that all debts and obligations
incurred for necessaries by such employes for themselves and families be
paid, 140'.7, THFREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY TH3 BOARD OF COTST,TISSIOPTT'F.S OF TEE
CITY OF PADUCATT, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
It shall be cause for removal and discharge of any and
all employes of the City of Paducah, including n11 persons appointed
by and subject to the control and supervision of the Board of Commissioner
to fail or refuse to pay any just debts or obligations inciirred for
necessaries for said employes or for members of their families, and any
such employe who shall resort to bankruptcy proceedings or other pro-
ceedings for the purpose of avoiding the ppyment of any just de4t so
incurred by him for necessaries for himself or his family, shmll be d
to have violated the provisions of this ordinance and may be immediately
suspended from service and employment by the Commissioner in charge
of the department in which he is employed, and if such employe were
employed by the Board of Commissioners his violation of the provisions
of this ordinance sh^11 be reported to the Board of Commissioners where
he may be suspended or.removed upon a hearing before the Board of Commiss-
ioners, within the discretion of the Board of Commissioners. Employes
violating the provisions of this ordinance, and who have not been
employed by action of the Board of Commissioners, shall be subject to
removal at the pleasure of the Commissioner in whose department they
are so employed.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon
