VIIIEREASO the Board of Commissioners of the City of
Paducah, Kentucky has heretofore on the 4th day of June, 1928 adopted
an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF
CONCRETE SIDEV!ALKS ON BOTH SIDES OF IVASHINGTON STF.EFT FROM THE WEST
PROPFP"TY LINE OF NINETEENTH STREET TO A POINT 150 FEET WEST OF THE WEST
PROPERTY LINE OF 7,7LTITIETH STREET, AND CONCRETE CURBS AND GUTTERS ON
BOTH SIDES OF %!A SHINGTON STREET FRO14 THE VIE£T PROPERTY LINE OF NINETE NTH

vided that the cost of construction of said sidewalk, Uarb and gutter i
and all other work done thereunder be paid for by the abutting property
owners on both sides of said street where said work was done, except that
portion to be paid by the City of Paducah, as required by law, and

tried into on the dip] of ____—_ _1928, between Yaney
Brothers, Contractors, and the City,of Paducah, Kentucky for the con-
struction thoreof, and
WHEREAS, said contract has in all respects been com-
plated and the work thereunder finished and accepted by the Board
of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky on the 23rd day
of October, 1928, pursuant to the recommendation made therefor by
the Commissioner of Public Works and pursuant to a motion made by
said Commissioner, which motion was duly adopted by the Board of
Commissioners, NOW, THKMEFORr,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.

That all of the property on both sides of Washirgton
Street from the ,'Vest property line of Nineteenth Street to a point
150 feet '+lest of the `.'.est property line of Twentieth Street, be,
and the same is hereby assessed for the cost of construction of
concrete sidewalk, and all necessary engineering, advertising and
legal and clerical service in connection therewith; and that all
of the property on both sides of Was}ington Street, from the West
property line of Nineteenth Street to the East curb line of Twenty -
First Street, be, and the same is hereby assessed for the cost of
construction of concrete curb and gutter, and all necessary manhole:
intakes, catch basins, sewers and server pipe, and all necessary
engineering, advertising and legal and clerical service in con-
nection therewith. All of snid work has been done under the
ordinance and contract aforesaid and said assessment is as follars,
to -wit:

As shown by the Engineer's estimates on file in the office of the
Commissioner of Public '.dorks, which estimates are adopted and made
part hereof.
SECTION 2.
That all of the funds derived from the assessmer
said property aforesaid shall be used for the purpose of pays
off the tax bills issued against said property, or such bond:
may be issued by the City of Paducah pursuant to Section 3101
Kentucky Statutes.

SECTION 3.
That pursuant to Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statutes,
as amended and re-onacted and now in force, said assessments may be,
at the option of the property owners, payable in cash within thirty
days from the date of the pissing and recording of this ordinance, or in
ten annual installments, pursuant to the provisions of said Statutes.
SECTION 4.
In order to provide a fund for the immediate payment of the
cost of that portion of the special assessments herein provided for, and
which may be paid on the ten year installment plan, as hereinbefore pro-
vided for, the City of Paducah may issue and sell Improvement Bonds, and
to secure the payment of which bonds there is hereby pledged such taxes �
and liens upon the prope>ty assessed herein for the payment of the prin-
cipal and interest on such bonds, but said bonds shall not be sold for
less than par, and the proceeds thereof applied exclusivelyto
payment fori
the improvement of said street as hereinbefore mentioned, and such bonds,
if issued, shall bear interest and shall be
Payable in accordance with thel
provisions of Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statutes, as amended and re-
enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and noir in
force and effect.
SECTION 5.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its passage,record and publication.
