AN ORDINANCE EXEMPTING NEW MAIJUFACTURING EITTER-
PRISES ESTABLISHED IPI THE CITY OF PADUCAH FROM THE PAYMENT OF AD
VALOREM AND LICENSE TAXES TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH FOR THE P_.;RIOD OF
FIVE YEARS.
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, to encourage the establishment of manufacturing enter-
prises within said City, and
l'JHEREAS, by law the City is permitted to offer as
an inducement to such new enterprises, complete exemption from ad
valorem and license taxes for city purposes, NuVd THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAIRTD BY THE BOARD OF COi.?l:IISSIOIIIERS OF
THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That from and after the passage and publication
of this ordinance all bona fide manufacturing enterprises here-
after established in the City of Paducah, and employing not less
than fifteen people, shall be exempted from the payment to the
City of Paducah, for a period of five years from the date of the
establishment of same, all ad valorem taxes upon all property
owned by such manufacturing enterprises and used by them entirely
in their said respective manufacturing businesses; and said manu-
facturing enterprises shall further be exempted from the payment
to said City of any and all license taxes for said period of five
years. �!
SECTION 2.
Whenever any manufacturing enterprise, as herein-
above referred to, shall desire to avail itself of the provisions
of this ordinance, it shall make application to the Board of
Commissioners of said City for exemption from taxes according to
the provisions of this ordinance, stating the nature of its business,
the location of its plant and the date whe0commenced, or expects
to commence operation. If from such application it appears that
such manufacturing enterprise is a bona fide manufacturing enter-
prise and entitled to exemption ffom taxation, as herein provided,
the approval of such application by a motion duly adopted by said
Board of Commissioners, shall automatically operate,to exempt such

manufacturing enterprise from ad valorem and license taxes fora �
period of five years.
