OR ABUTTING FEET, AND PROVIDING THAT A TAX SIiALL BE LEVIED UPON SAID
LOTS OR PARCELS OF REAL ESTATE FOR THE PAYMENT OF THE COST ASSESSED
THEREON AND INHICH COST SHALL BE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TOTAL COST
OF COMPLETING SAID IMPROVEMENTS AND THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF THE CONTRILUQ
TION OF THE STORKS PROGRESS ADMINISTRATION OR OTHER AGENCIES OF TILE
FEDERAL OR STATE GOVERNMENT ENGAGED IN MING SAID IMPROVEI,ILNT, AND
:WHICH TAX SHALL BE DUE AND PAYABLE AT THE OFFICE OF THE CITY TREASURR
ONE-HALF THEREOF VIRM, THE WORK OF CONSTRUCTION BEGINS AND THE REIdAINPER
THEREOF 4HEN ONE-HALF OF SAID IMPROVEMENTS SHALL HAVE BEEII COMPLETED
INHICH TIME SHALL BE DETERMINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS WITH THE
ADVICE OF TIIE CITY ENGINEER.

PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That the driveway on South 5th Street from the North line of
Clark to the South line of Tennonace Street in the City of Paducah,
Kentucky with all necessary manholes, intakes, catch basins, sewer and
drain pipes and all necessary engineering, advertising and legal and
clerical services in con .action therewith, under an Act of the General
Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky adopted at its regular session
in 1338, providing for the improvement of public ways in cities of t'ho
second class by aid of the ;orks Progress Administration or other
aren•Ica of the federal or state government, and at the exclusive
cost of the oyraers of rail estate abutting on such improvement to be
accort'oroO ancng as.,' annassed upon i,he lots and parcels of real
estate atutt:n-, or. such improver:cnt according to tho number of front
or abuttin- feet., and prov?,'_:n,, that a tax nhall be levied. upon maid
lots or parcels of real estate for Lh,) payrnont of the cost assoased

of the Federal or State Government engaged in making said improve-
ment, and which tas shall be due and payable at the office of the
City Treasurer one-half thereof when the erork of construction beris
and the remainder thereof when one-half of said improvement has begn
completed, which time shall be determined by the Board of Commission -
era of said city with the advice of the City Engineer, be and the
sane is hereby ordered to be so constructed and reconstructed with
concrete or other improved paving material under the provisions
of sa._d law aforesaid.
SECTION 2.
That all t -.e cost incident to said construction of said street
as provided in Section 1 hereof, except that part which ahgll be Ilj

paid by the Federal or State Government shall be paid for wholly by
the property owners of property abutting or fronting upon such

improvement on both sides of said street, and to be apportioned to
and assessed against said abutting property as provided in Sectionll
i
hereof.
SECTION 3.
When said work has been commenced, the Board of Commissioners)
with the advice of the City Engineer shall cause to be given to the
owners of said property abutting upon such improvement so proposed)
to be made, a notice by the publication of an ordinance or resolut
ion that said work has commonced, and upon the publication of such
resolution or ordinance the owners of such abutting property shall
iz-:mediately pay to the City Treasurer the amount of one-half of the!
estimated cost of such improvement as may be apportioned to said
respective lots so abutting thereupon, and when said vmrlc has been
half completed said Board of Commissioners shall likewise publish a
resolution or ordinance -lving notice of the half completion thereof,
and requiring the owners of theabutting property thereon to pry into
the City Treasury the other one-half of said cost of said improvements
so to be assessed against --aid property and apportioned thereto as
afcresaid, and which payments s`:all be mado immediately upon the
publication of such notices as herein provided.
SLCTIC:: 4.
A resolution providing for the construction and reconstruction
of said r'r'_veway as h^--r<,in definod and in manner herein defined having
heretofore been adopted by the :;card of Commissioners, and having been
,. .Ii_heu in the official newspaper more tti.an sown (^) days L•ofore the
date of irtr-d-,:cticn of this ordinance, thia ordinance shall be in full
force and effect ten (10) days after its adoption and publication,
