SECTION 1.
The Chief of the Fire rep,rtment sholl be the active
executive head of the Fire Depprtment, but he shell be re*ponsible
to and subject to orders from the City ',dsncger resW cling the condu�
and functioning of said department. He shell plan the work of
the department and his orders to the other members of sold de-
partment shell be strictly obeyed, and no appenl from any order
or direction of the Chief of the Fire Depqrtment shall ve considered
unless it be made in writin.- and addressed and delivered to theCity
I.annger. it shell be the duty of the Chief of the Fire Depertment
to report in writing to the City =tanager any failure, neLlect or
refusal on the part of nny member of said depnrtment to use his best

endeavor to enforce laws, perform his duties end to reportviolatio

to the Poerd of Commissioners for the efficient and orderly conduct

SECTION G.
Any mer.:ber of said ,ire Department who shrll be found guilty
es now, provided by law, on a hearing of chrrees for violation of the
rules end reCulationn prescribed in the preceeding section shall
be demote , sgspended or dismissed from the service in the discretion
of the 'card of Coa.misaioners.
6ECTION 7.
',"hen c member of the Fire Derrrtnent is demoted by the
Dcerd of Co:vniscioners from one grade or classification to a l,)wer
grtde or classification, he &ball hove the snore status es one
appointed or promoted to such lower grade. } suspended member shall
receive no pay during the time of his suspension unless he he ac-
quitted of the charge or charges egainst him, end if so acquitted
lie may be ellowed pay for the time so suspended by order of the
roerd of Commissioners.

SECTION 10.
No member shell use the automotive enuipment of the Fire
L'etertment except in the performence of duty; and no member :boll
drive acid equipment at a speed in excess of the prescribed rate. Each

–ember shell strictly observe all traffic lrws, ordinances end
reg.aet_oor. of the city, extent in answerinc alarms, and then shell
use utmost diligence in the handling of the e.uipment. Each
member using said automotive equipment shell use every precaution
to preserve the safe in Food order end good arpearpnee.
SECTION 11.

collected by memters of the Fire Ce-artment, shell be delivered

%n over to the Tre,si:rer of the City of Paducah to he deposited to the
credit of the Police end Fircmen's Pension Fund. �

are to the extent of such conflict hereby repealed, end the provisions
1 of this ordinE.nee are hereby declared to be severable, end if ony

prcvision hereof she'll be found or declared to be invalid, such
decision or invelidity shall not affect the remaining provisions
of this ordinance, it being the intention of the P.oard of Commissioners
