ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, the United States has acquired certain land
fronting 173 feet 3 inches on the southwesterly side of Fifth
Street by 157 feet 6 inches on the northwesterly side of Broadway
Street, as a Post Office and Court House site at Paducah, Kentucky,
and
WHEREAS, the plans for the Post Office and court House
building contemplate th construction of a 6 -inch storm water sewer
outside the Governmentfs lot lines along Fifth and Broadway street;
as shown on blueprint of "Sketvh A. proposed Building, U.S. Post
Office and Court House, Paducah, Kentucky', dated February 13,1937,
and made in the Treasury De artment, Procurement Division, Public
Buildings Branch, Washington, D.C.; and
WHEREAS, the United States of America desires to obtain
from the City of Paducah an irrevocable, license to construct
and maintain the aforesaid sewer pipe lines along said city streets
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commiss-
ioners of the City of Paducah, County of McCracken, State of
Kentucky:
That an irrevocable license is hereby granted to the
United States of America to construct and maintain at its own ex-
pense a 6 -inch sewer along Fifth and Broadway streets, the land to
be traversed by said sewer being described as follows:
Lying and being in Paducah, County of McCrgcken, State
of Kentucky:
Beginning at a point in Fifth Street, which point is
distant northeastwardly 3 feet from the northeasterly property line
of the Post Office site and approximately 95 feet southeasttisardly
from the north corner of the Post Office site; running th nee in a
southeastwardly direction along Fifth street parallel to and
distant 3 feet northeastwardly from the northeasterly side of the
Post Office site a distance of approximately 87 feet to connect to
the new 6 -inch storm sewer to be constructed in Broadway street;and
Beginning at a point in Broadway street, ,:hich point is
distant 3 feet southeast..ardly from the southeasterly property line
of the Post Office site and 31 feet northeastwardly from the south
corner of the Post Office site; running thence in a northeastwardly
direction along Broadway Street, parallel to and distant 3 feet
southeast.ardly from the southeasterly side of the Post Office site
a distance of approximately 126 feet to a point in Broadway street;
Thence in an eastw:ardly direction a distance of approximately 16
feet to connect 6othe existing manhole at the intersection of
Fifth and Broadway Streets, all shown on "Sketch A. Proposed
Building, O.S. Post Office and Court House, Paducah, Kentucky,"
dated February 13, 1937, made in the Treasury Department, Procure -
m nt Division, Public Buildings Branch, Washington, D.C., blueprint
of which is at ached hereto and by reference made a part hereof.
This ordinance is to take effect from and after its
passage and all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with
the same are hereby repealed so far as the same may effect this
privilege /I
