V. BEAN VS CITY OF PADIICAH, AND TO PAY TO SAID SPECIAL COUNSEL A RETAINER'S FEE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE - CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That there is now pending in the McCracken Circuit Court an action of L. V. Bean against the City of Paducah to enjoin the City of Paducah from removing the said L. V. Bean as City Manager and the close association between W. V. Eaton, Corporation Counsel, and appointee of the said L. V. Bean, makes it imperative that the interest of the City of Paducah be protected by the employment of special counsel and the Acting City Manager is hereby authorized to employ such mumber oi' Attorneys as he may think proper to represent the City of Paducah in said litigation. SECTION 2. The Acting Manager is hereby authorized to contract with said special counsel to represent the said City of Paducah, in the action of L. V. Bean vs City of Paducah and is authorized to pay a retainer fee to said special counsel upon their employ— ment in a sum not in excess of Fifteen Hundred (,51500.00) Dollars and to draw a check upon the funds of the City of Paducah signed by -him as Acting City Manager in conjunction with the City Treasurer for said sum of money. Said payment to be charged to Contingent Fund. SECTION 3. ~ An emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after it's adoption by the Board of Commissioners. Mayor Adopted May 21st, 1936. Clerk i
