AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EMPLOYMENT AND
PROVIDING FOR THE PAY OF SPECIAL COUNSEL TO DEFEND APPEALS FROM THE
BOARD OF EQUALIZATION TO THE QUARTERLY COURT FOR 1936
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COLUAISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
The City Manager is hereby authorized and empowered
to employ Special Counsel to represent the City and Board of
Equalization on appeals from the action of the Board of Equalizatiot
for 1936, which appeals are now pending in the McCracken Quarterly
Court.
SECTION 2.
Such Special Counsel so to be employed as herein
contemplated shall be paid for all services to be performed on
said appeals the sum of Six Hundred ($600.00) Dollars payable as
follows: Two Hundred & Fifty ($250.00) Dollars to be paid upon the
acceptance of said appointment by said Special Counsel and the
balance thereof, to -wit: Three Hundred & Fifty ($x350.00) Dollars
to be paid when the last of said cases has been tried and judgment
submitted. Said payments to be made out of the General Fund of the
City of Paducah and for the purpose thereof said sum to the amount
herein specified and hereby specially appropriated, all of which ar
to be paid out of the fund now designated as Contingent Fund.
SECTION 3.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
