AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE LEVIES AND RATES OF
TAXATION ON ALL PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, SUBJECT
TO TAXATION FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES AND FOR SCHOOL PURPOSES FOR THE

YEAR 1936, AND THE RATE OF POLL TAX WITH THE PURPOSE OF SAID TAXES
(THEREUNDER DEFINED.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF C01LiISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
There is hereby levied for the year 19x61 upon
fall taxable property within the City of Paducah, Kentucky, real
Mand personal, subject to taxation for municipal purposes, an ad
,valorem tax of One and 38/100 ($1.38) Dollars, up.)n each One
(Hundred ($100.00) Dollars of valuation of taxable property in said
Ilcity, pursuant to Section 157 of the State Constitution, to defray
the cost of maintaining and administering the Government of the
(City of Paducah fqr the year 1936, and to cover the estimated cost
lof maintaining and operating the departments and agencies of said
(Government pursuant to thy, annual budget prepared and submitted
jlto the Board of Commissioners by the City Manager, and approved
by the Board of Commissioners, exclusive, however, of the levies
hereinafter mentioned and defined. There is also hereby levied a
poll tax of One and 50/100 ($1.50) Dollars on each male resident of
the City of Paducah over 21 years of age for the year 1936. There
I�s also hereby levied upon each One Hundred ($100.00) Dollar
(valuation of taxable property in said City, a special tax of Two
(.02) Cents, to be paid into and become a part of the Police and
Iiremen's Pension Fund, and which fund shall be segregated and set
,apart in a separate fund in the City Treasury, and shall be held
Iubject to and for the purposes defined in Sections 3142-1-19
.entucky Statutes. There is h reby levied for the year 1936 on all

taxable property within said City, subject to taxation for municipal
urposes, an ad valorem tax of Eight (.08) Cents upon each One
I
IHundred ($100.00) Dollars of valuation of taxable property to
�reate a sinking fund for th purpose of -paying and retiring out-
standing bonds which have been voted by the people of the City of
I Paducah; and there is likewise hereby levied for said year an ad
valorem tax of Twenty -Two (.22) Cents on each One Hundred ($100.00)

Kollar of valuation of taxable property in said City, to pay the
Lnterest on said outstanding unpaid Uoted bonds, and all of which

bonds have been approved by vote of the people of said City.
The rate of taxation for the estimated expenditures of
each departm-nt of the City Government, and for such othcr
purposes as are deemed ip be necessary for the proper maintenance
and administering thereof, and with the amount appropriated for

each of said departments and purposes are set apart and stated
in the budget and apportionment which has been adopted and

Iprovided for by the Board of Commissioners, an•1 as set out in said

( Apportionment Ordinance; and the amount of levies provided in this
ordinance are necessary and required in order to
provide the
i
revenue adequate to meet the requirements of said Apportionment
Ordinance.
SECTION 2.
ji There is hereby levied for the year 1936, a tax of Twenty
(.20) Cents on each One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars of the fair cash
value upon all the shares of stock of State Banks and Trust
jCompanies Incorporated under the laws of this Commonwealth, and
engaged in business in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and a like
tax upon all the shares of stock of National Bankd doing business
'�in said City.
j And there is further levied a tax of fifteen (.15) Cents
Ion each One Hundred (4100.00) Dollars of the fair cash value
i, of all unmanufactured agricultural products subject to taxation
within said City for General municipal purposes, and all of said
Ijl
taxes provided for in this section, are levied and to be collected
"for the year 1936, and to be used for general municipal urposes.
SECTION 3.
All Revenues derived from licenses and from all other sourcl;
collected and paid into the City Treasury, for general municipal
purposes, shall be distributed to their :es?eciive accounts in the
same proportions as ad valorem 'axes herein provided for, except
r..venues and the sources thereof which have not been considered in
making up the Apportionment Ordinance; and in the event of the
(collection of any other revenues or receipts of other income which

was not considered in making up the apportionment ordinance, and
same shall be credited to the general fund.
SECTION 4.
I
The Hoard of Education of the City of Paducah, pursuant to
authority vested in it under its Charter, and under the laws of the
State of Kentucky, have adopted a resolution requesting therein that;
the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah should levy an
ad valorem tax on all property in said City for school purposes, and

also an ad valorem tax upon such property for sinking fund purposes
Now, pursuant to said resolution, and it appearing to the satis-
faction of the hoard of Commissioners, that it is necessary to maki /
the levies for school purposes as hereinafter set out, there is here-
by levied for the year 1936 upon aLl the taxable property subject
to taxation for school purposes within said City, an ad valorem
tax of Eighty-three (.83) Cents on each One hundred ({100.00)
Dollars of valuation of real and personal property in the City of
Paducah, for the support and maintenance of public schools in
1 said City, less the estimated sum to be received from the State
Common School Funds and from other sources; and there is like-
liwise hereby levied and imposed an ad valorem tax upon such real
and :oersonal property subject to taxation for school purposes in

the City of Paducah for the year 1936, Fifteen (.15) Cents upon
each One hundred (0100.00) Dollars of valuation of such property
forthe purpose of creating a sinking fund for the payment of bonds

for the City of Paduca:_ issued for school purposes, and in
payment of interest upon such bonds as and when the same may
become due; and there is hereby further levied a tax of Forty
(.40) Cents on each One uundred ($100.00) Dollars of the fair
cash value upon all the shares of stock of State Banks and T,_.ust
Companies, incorporated under the laws of this Commonwealth,
and engaged in business in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and also
on National Banks doing business in said City for the year 1936,
and which tax so levied shall be for the support and maintenance
of public schools of said City. There is also hereby levied and
imposed an ad valorem tax of Three (.03) Cents on each One Hundred
($100.00) Dollars of valuation of real and personal property

in the City of Paducah, subject to taxation for the year 1936,
for the su3port and maintenance of the Teachers Retirement System,
as a part of the taxes and addition to such taxes for public
school purposes. There is hereby further levied and imposed a
tax of Five (.05) Cents on each One Hundred(yi100.00) Dollars of
valuation of all real and personal property in the City of Paducah,)
subject to taxation for the year 1936, pursuant to an ordinance
adopted by the Board of Commissioners of said City on the 27th
day of January, 1936, for the purpose of aiding, assisting and
maintaining the Paducah Junior College, and which taxes shall be,
and the same is hereby declared to be a tax for school pur)oses.
SECTION 5.
The total ad valorem taxes levied under this ordinance
