K'HEREAS, the General Council of the City of Paducah, Ken-
tucky, has heretofore, to -wit; on the 28th day',of June, 1926, adopted an

7FAKRE:,S, it was provid d in such ordinance that the cost of
construction of said roadway, curbs and gutters, together with the ne-
cessary manholes, int-a_.es, catch basins, driveways and sewer connections
be paid for by the abutting lonerty owners on hoth sides of said street,
except that portion to be paid by the City of Paducah. as required by law;
and,
17HF REaS, pursuant to saiu oralru,:cc. a contract was entered
into on the 8th day of Sept. ;1926, between the D. J. Ryan Construction
Company, of Davenport, Iowa, and the City of raducah, Kentucky, for the
construction of same; and,
WHEREAS, said contract has been completed and duly accepted
by the General Council on the First day of August, 1927, pursuant to the
recommendation of the Board of Public Works of said City;
NOW? THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GENERAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PAIUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That all property on both sides of Trimble Street, from the
west property line of 10th Street to the east property line of 13th St

from the west property line of 13th Street to the west property line
pi of 17th Street, in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be, and the sane is,
hereby assessed for the cost of constriction of a hard surface
road-
way, consisting of a concrete foundation with a sheet asphalt top where -
II ever constructed, as shown on plans and curbs and gutters, together
itwith all necessary manholes, intakes, catch basins, driveways and sewer
connections, as follows,: -
From the west property line of 10th Street to the east property line

as particularly shown by the City Engineer's estivate of said cost
filed and apnroved by the General Council of said City, and which will
appeat on file in the offices of the City Clerk and City Engineer, re-
spectively, and which are no.l referree to and made part hereof.

SECTION 2.
That the funds derived from the assessment of said property
shall be used for the purpose of paying off the special tax bills issued
against said property, or such bonds as may be issued by the City of
Paducah, "entucky, pursuant to Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statutes.
SECTION 3.
ii
That pursuant to Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statutes,
jsaid tax assessment may, at the option of the property owners, be pay-
able in cash without interest within tnirty,days from the date of pas-
sage and publication of this Ordinance, or in ten annual installments,
provided the property owners within thirty days enter into a written
agreement with said City, in accordance with the provisions of said
Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statutes.
SECTION 4.
In order to provide the funds for the immediate payment of
ithe cost of that portion of the special assessments herein provided
lfor, which may be paid on the ten year installment plan, as hereinabove
(provided, the City of Paducah may issue and sell imnrovement bonds,
and to secure the payment of such bonds, there is hereby pledged such
taxes and liens on the property assessed herein for the payment of

principal and interest, but such bonds shall not be sold for less than par,
and the proceeds derived therefrom shall be applied exclusively to the pay'_
ment of the cost of such construction as hereinabove provided; and such
bonds, ikissued, shall bear interest and shall be payable in accordance
with the provisions of Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statutes.
SECTION 5.
This Ordinance shall take effect and be .in force from and
after its -passage, approval and publication.
