AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF CONCRETE
SIDF..TALKS AND QTTTERS, AND CURBS OF EITHER CONCRETE OR GRANITE, ON BOTH
SIDES OF GREER STREET, FROM THE NORTH PROPERTY LINE OF 12TH STREET TO TH
SOUTH PROPERTY LINE OF 11TH STREET; ON BOTH SIDES OF BRIDGE STREET FROM
THE NORTH PROPERTY LINE OF FLORA STREET TO THE SOUTH PROPERTY LINE OF
KINKEAD AVENUE; AND ALSO ON BRIDGE STREET, FROM THE 17E9T PROPERTY LINE
OF CLYMENTS STREETS TO THE EAST PROPERTY LINE OF JARRETT STREET, TOOETHE

PIPE CONNECTIONS, IN THE CITY OF PtADUCAH, KENTUCKY, IN ACCORDANCE WITH
TRE; PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS PROViDTD THERNFOR BY THE CITY ENGINEER, AT
TIE COST OF THE ATjTTING PROPERTY OWNERS, AND PROVIDING THAT THE COST OF
SUCH CONSTRUCTION MAY BE PAID UNDER THE; PROVISIONS OF THE TEAL YEAR PAYEE',
PLAN.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GENERAL COUVCIL OF THE CITY
()F Pj,D1-JUAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That both sides of Greer Street, from the north property line
.I of 12th Street to the south property line of 11th Street; on both sides
of Bridge Street from the north property line of Flora Street to the sout
property line of Kinkead Avenue; and also on Bridge Street,from the
west Property line of Clements Street to the east property line of Jarret
Street, in the Uity of Paducah, Kentucky, in accordance with the plans and
specifications provided"therefor by the City hngineer, and which plans anal
specifications are on .file in the office of the Engineer of said City,

and are hereby referred to and made Part hereof as if specifically set

forth herein.
SECTION 2•
Said improvement shall be made under the direction and super-
vision of the City Engineer and the Board of Public Works of said City,
and shall commence and be completed at the time designated by contract.
SECTION 3.
The cost of such construction shalI'be paid for by the property
owners fronting or abutting thermion, to be a -Q tioned and assessed agai4 t
the property and property owners abutting thereon according to the number
of abutting feet, except that porton, if any, to he Paid by the City of
Paducah as required by law, x

SECTION 4. .
The contractor awarded the contract for the work herein provic
shall be Paid in accordance with the provisions of Sections 3096, 3100,
3101 and 3102 of the Kentucky Statutes;

SECTION 5.
The Mlayor of said City is hereby authorized and directed
to execute written contract required.of the'successful bidder for the
construction of said improvement; also to annrove the construction
bond required by the contractor.
SECTION 6.
Bids shall be received for the improvement herein
provided .for, in accordance with the plans and specifications and
profile furnished by the City Engineer of said City, and the contract
therefor shall be awarded the lowest and best bidder, except the
right is expressly reserved to reject any and all bids witiin the
discretion of the General Council, and said General Council may accept
any bid which appears to be for the best interest of the City.
SECTION 7.
The Board of Public Works is.hereby authorized and
directed to advertise for bids for the construction of said improvement,
which bids said Board will report to the General Council, together
with its recomr.-!endation of any of same or the rejection of all of
same.
SECTION S. A.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its passage, approval and publication.
