— AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF CONCRETE SIDE
WALKS ON BOTH SIDES OF P+IONROE STREET FROM THE VEST LINE OF THE I.O•R•R• ^�
RIGHT OF V;AY, AT TENTH STREET, TO THE EAST SIDE OF Yv'-ELFTH STREET, AND
ON BOTH BILES OF NORTH ELEVENTH STREET FROM THE NORTH PROPERTY LINE OF
JEFFERSON STREET TO THE NORTH PROPERTY LINE OF MADISON STIUET; TOGETHER
v,ITB ALL NECESSARY MANHOLES, INTAKES, CATCH BASINS AND SEViER PIPE
CONNECTIONS, IN THE CITH OF PADUCAH, 1LENTJCKY, AT THE COST OF THE ABUTTING
PROPERTY OPENERS, AND PROVIDING THAT SAME I1AY BE PAID FOR UPON THE TEN
YEAR PAYMENT PLAN -
BE IT ORDAINED BY ^1HE GENERAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
nENTUC KY:
: SECTION 1 :
That concrete side walks on both sides of irlonroe Street from
the best line of the I• C. R. R. right of Way at Tenth Street, to the
east side of Twelfth Street, and on both sides of North Eleventh Street
from the North property lire of Jefferson Street to the North property
line of Madison Street, be constructed, with all necessary -manholes,
intakes, catch basins and sewer pipe connections, in the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, in accordance with the plans, specifications and profile
furnished therefor by the City Engineer of said City, all of which plans
and specifications are now referred to;; adopted and made a part hereof,
as is specifically set forth herein.
: SECTION 2 :
That said improvement shall be constructed under the direction
and supervision of the City Engineer and Board of Public Vtorks of said
City, and shall be commenced at the time designated by contract for the
performance thereof and completed on or before December the 10th, 1924.
: SECTION 3 :
The,costof such construction shall be paid for wholly
by the propertylowre.,qs;.fronting or abutting thereon, to be apportioned
to and assessed..agsinst the piroperty and the property owners abutting
thereon according to -the number of abutting feet thereon, except that
portion to be paid for by the City of Paducah, as required by law.
SECTION 4
That the contractor awarded the contract for the work here-
in shall be paid §s provided in Sections 3096, 3100, 3101 and 3102 of
the Aentucky Statutes.

Ordinances
SECTION 5 :
1 The Mayor of said City is hereby authorized and directed to
execute all written contracts and bonds required of the successful bidder
for the construction of said improvement, as required by law.
: SECTION 6 :
Bids shall be received for the improvement herein provided
for, according to the plans, specifications and profiles made and provided
therefor by the City Engineer of said City, and a contract therefor shall
be awarded to the lowest and best bidder, except the right is expressly
reserved to reject any and all bids within the discretion of the Board
of Public Forks and the General Council, and said General Council may
accept any bid which is for the best interest of said City.
SECTION 7 :
The Board of Public 19orks is hereby given the right and
authority to advertise for bids for the construction of said improvement,
which bids said Board is hereby directed to report to the General Council,
together with its recommendation for the acceptance of any of same, or
the rejection of all of same.
SECTION 8
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from its
Passage, approval and publication.
