AN ORDINANCE, PPOViDiNG FOR THE; IMPROvE,1ENT OF CERTAIN ALLEYS
HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED, IN THE CITY OF PAATUAH, KEPI'i'UCKY, BY THE CONS 1'hjc
of SAME WITH CONCRETE, IN ACCORDANUE C1ITH THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
PROVIDED THEREFOR BY THE CITY 1:N3IP?T s3, AT THE COST OF THE; ABU'ITING
PROPERTY 07NERS, AND PROVIDING THAT SMD IMPROVEFENT BE MADE UNDER THE
PROVISIONS OF THE TEN YEAR PAYMENT PLAN.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GENERAL COUNCIL OF THE CI17
OF PADUCAH, KENTUUKY:
SE'CTiON 1.
That the following described alleys in the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, to -wit'
"The alley located between Harrison and Clay Streets and
parallel to the above mentioned streets, from the west property
line of 11th Street to the east property line of 12th Street.
"The alley located between Broadway and Kentucky Avenue
and parallel to the above mentioned streets, rrom the west
property line of 6th Street to the east property line of 71th
Street.
"The alley located between 1st and 2nd Streets and parallel
to the above mentioned streets, from the north property line of
Washington Street to the south property line of Kentucky Avenue;
from the north property line of Kentucky Avenue to the south
proper ty line of Broadway; from the north property line of
Broadway to the south property line of the Internet;.onel Shoe
Company's property; the alley located between Broadway and
Jefferson Streets and parallel to the above mentioned streets;
from the west property line of 1st Street to the east line of
the alley located between 1st and 2nd Streets and parallel there-
to,"
be constructed of concrete, together with «11 necessary manholes, intakes
and catch basins, in accordance with the plans and specifications provide
therefor by the City Engineer of said City, at the cost of the abutting
property and property owners, and that said construction be made under th
provisions of the ten year payment plan.
SECTION 2.

„Said construction shall be made under the direction and super-

vision or the City Engineer and Board of Public Works of said City, and
shall AoIDmence and b'e'corupleted at the time designated by contract.
SECTION 3.
The cost Of such construction shall be paid for wholly by the
property owners fronting or abutting thereon, to be apportioned to and
assessed against the property and property owners abutting thereon, according
to the number of abutting feet, except that portion to be paid by the City
of Paducah as required by law.
SECTION 4.
The Contractor awarded the contract for the improvement herei
provided for shall be paid in accordance with the terms and provisions
in Sections 3096, 3100, 3101 and 3102 of the Kentucky Statutes.

SECTION 5.
The Mayor of said City is hereby authorized and directed to
execute contract and accept bond required to be executed by the
contractor awarded the contract 1'or such improvement.
SECTION 6.
Bids shall be received for the improvement herein provided
for, in accordance with the plans and specifications made and provided
therefor by the City Engineer, and the contrm,ct therefor shall be
awarded to the lowest and best bidder, except the right is expressly

reserved to reject any and all bids within the discretion of the
General Council, and said General Council may accept any bid which
appears to be for the best interest of said City.
SECTION 7.
The Board of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed
to advertise for bids for the construction of said improvement, and
to make report of same to the General Council, together with its
recommendation for the acceptance of any of same or the rejection of
all of same.
SECTION S.

This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its passage, approval and publication.
