AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF CONCRETE
SIDEWALKS AND GUTTERS, AND CURBS OF EITHER CONCRETE OR GRANITE, Oil BOTH
SIDES OF BROADNAY, FROM THE WEST CURB LINE OF 25TH STREET TO THE EAST
PROPERTY LINE. Or 28th STREET, EXCEPT THE PORTION ALREADY CONSTRUCTED ,".'HICF.

BY THE CITY ENGINEER, AT THE COST OF THE ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS, AND
P70VIDING THAT THE COST OF STTUH CONSTRUCTION MAY BE PAID UNDP;R THE PRO-
VISIONS OF THE TEN YEAR PAYMENT PLAN.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GENERAL COUNCIL OP, THE
CITY OF PADUUAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION L.
That both sides of Broadway, from the west curb line of
25th Street to the east property line of 28th Street, except the portion
already constructed which conforms to grade and line, in the City of
Paducah, be improved by the construction of concrete sidewalks and gutter,
and curbs of either concrete or granite, according to bid accepted, togetHer

with all necessary manholes, intakes, catch basins, driveways and sewer
pipe connections, in accordance with the plans"And .specifications provided
I
therefor by the Uity Engineer, and which plans and specifications are on
file in the office of the Engineer of said City, .,nd are herby referred to
and made part hereof as if specifically set forth herein.

SECTION 2.
I �
Said improvement shall be under the direction and supervision
I
of the City Engineer and_Boar pf Public Works of said City, and shall
commence and be completed at the time designated by contract.
SECTION 3.
The cost of such construction shall be paid for by the
property owners fronting or abutting thereon, to be apportioned and
assessed against the property pand property owners abutting thereon according
to the number of abutting feet except that portion, if any, to be paid bl
the City of Paducah as required by law.
SECTION 4.
The Contractor awarded the contract for the work herein
provided shall be paid in accordance with the provisions of Sections
3096, 3100, 3101 and 3102 of the Kentucky Statutes.
SECTION 5.
The Mayor of said City is hereby authorized and directed
to execute contract required of the successful bidder for the constructi
of said improvement, also to approve the construction bond required by
the contractor.

SECTION 6.
Bids shall be received for the improvement herein provided
for, in accordance with the plans and specifications and profile
furnished by the City Engineer of said City, and the contract therefor
shall be awarded the lowest and best bidder, except the right is
expressly reserved to reject any and —11 bids within the discretion
of the General Council, and said General Council may accept any bid

which appears to be for the best interest of the City.
SECTION 7.
The Board of Public Works is hereby authorized and
directed to advertise for bids for the construction df said
improvement, which bids the said Board will report to the General
Council, together with its recommendation for the acceptance of any
of same or the rejection of all of same.
SF,CTION B.
This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage, approval and publication.
