AN ORDINANCE PROV1uING FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF 25TH STREET, FROM THE SOUTH PRuPERTY LINE OF BROADNAY TO THE NORTH CURB LINE OF JACKSON STREET; KENTUCKY AVENUE, FROM THE 'NEST CURB LINE OF 25TH STREET TO THE EAST CURB LINE OF 28TH STREET; 24TH STREET, FROM THE SOUTH CURB LINE OF KENTUCKY AVENUE TO THE; SOUTH PROPERTY LINE OF WIASHINGTON STREET; WIASHINGTON STREET, FRO14 THE VIEST CURB LINE OF 24TH STREET TO THE; EAST CURB LINE OF 25TH STREET; LITTLE AVENUE FROM THE SOUTH CURB LINE OF PAXTON AVENUE TO 7HE PRESENT CITY LIMIT LINE, IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, BY THE GRADING AND CGRAVELING> OF SAME, TOGETHER WITH ALL NECESSARY MANHuLES, INTAKES, CATCH BASINS AND SE's"!ER PIPE CONNECTIONS, IN ACCORDANCE '71TH THE PLANS AND SPECIFI- CATIONS PROVIDED THEREFOR BY THE CITY ENGINEER, AT THE COST OF THE ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS, AND PROVIDING THAT THE COST OF SUCH CON- STRUCTION MAY BE PAID IN ACCORDANuE I7ITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE TEN YEAR PAYMENT PLAN. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GENERAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That 25th Street, from the south property line of Broadway to the north curb line of Jackson Street; Kentucky Avenue' from the west curb line of 25th Street to the east curb line of 28th Street; 24th Street from the south curb line of Kentucky Avenue to the south property line of 1'+ashington Street; Washington Street from the west curb line of 24th Street to the east curb line of 25th Street; Little Avenue from the south curb line of Paxton Avenue to the present City Limit line, in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be improved by the grading and graveling of same, together with all necessary manholes, intakes, catch basins and sewer pipe connections, in accordance with the plans and specifications provided therefor by the City Engineer,. which will appear on file in the office of the City Engineer, and are now referred to and made part hereof, as if specifi- cally set forth herein. SECTION 2. Said construction shall be made unde# the direction i and supervision of the City Engineer and Board of Public Works of i said City, and shall commence and be completed at the time designated i by contract. ! SECTION 3. The cost of such construction shall be paid for wholly by the property owners fronting or abutting thereon, to be appo"tinned to and assessed against the property and property owners abutting thereon, according to the number of abutting feet, except NO .938. that portion to be paid by the City of Paducah as required by law. SECT.,ON 4. The contractor awarded the contract for the improvement herei', provided for shall be paid in accordance with the terms and provisions in Sections 3096, 3100, 3101 and 3102 of the Kentucky Statutes. SECTION 5. The Mayor of said City is hereby authorized and directed to execute contract and accept bond required to be executed by the contract, awarded the contract for such improvement. SECTION 6. Bids shall be received for the improvement herein provided f in accordance with the plans and specifications made and provided theref by the City Engineer, and the Contract therefor shall be awarded to the lowest and best bidder, except the right is expressly reserved to reject any and all bids within the discretion of the General Council, and said General Council may accept any bid which appears to be for the best inte of said City. SECTION 7. The Board of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to advertise for bids for the construction of said improvement, and to make report of same to the General Council, togetherwith its recommendat for the acceptance of any of same or the rejection of all of same. SECTION S. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage approval and publication. i------------- -- - st
