AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE IMPPOVE24ENT OF JACKSON
STREET FROM THE WEST PROPERTY LINE OF GUTHRIE AVENUE TO THE EAST PROPERTY
LIKE OF TTENTY-FIRST STREET, IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, BY THE
CONSTRUCTION OF A HARD SURFACE ROAIW.'AY, TOGETHER 17ITH ALL NECESSARY MAN-
HOLES, INTAKES, CATCH BASINS, DRIVEPiAYS AND SDPER PIPE CONNECTIONS, IN
ACCORDANCE WITH THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS PROVIDED THEREFOR BY THE
CITY ENGINEER, AT THE COST OF THE ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS, AND PROVID-
ING THAT THE COST OF SUCH CONSTRUCTION MAY BE PAID IN ACCORDANCE PiITH THE'

PROVISIONS OF THE TEN YEAR PAYMENT PLAN.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GENERAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY

OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That Jackson Street from the west property line of Guthrie
Avenue to the east property line of Twenty-first Street, in the City of
Paducah, Kentucky, be improved by the construction of a hard surface road=
way, together with all necessary intakes, catch basins, manholes, drive-
ways and sewer pipe connections, in accordance with the plans and specifi-
cations provided therefor by the City Engineer, and which plans and
specifications will appear on file in the office of said Engineer, and are
now referred to and made part hereof, as if specifically set forth herein.
SECTION 2. i
Said construction shall be made under the direction and
supervision of the City Engineer and Board of Public Works of said City,
and shall commence and be completed at the time designated by contract.
SECTION 3.
The cost of such construction shall be paid for wholly
by the property owners fronting thereon, to be apportioned to and assessed
against the property and the Property owners abutting thereon, according
to the number of abutting feet thereon, except that portion to be paid by
the City of Paducah as required by law.
SECTION 4.
The Contractor awarded the contract for the improvement
herein provided for shall be paid in accordance with the terms and provisions
of Sections 3095, 3100, 3101 and 3102 of the Kentucky Statutes.
SECTION 5.
The Mayor of said City is hereby authorized and
directed to execute conteact «nd accept bond required to be executed by
the contractor awarded the contract for such construction.
NO. 833.
SECTION 6.
Bids shall be received for the improvement herein provided fob
in accordance with the plans and specifications made and provided
therefor by the City Engineer, and the contract therefor shall be
awarded to the lowest and best bidder, except the right is reserved
to reject any and all bids within the discretion of the General
Council, and it may accept any bid which appears to be for the best
interest of said City.
SECTION 7.
The Board of Public Piorks is hereby authorized to advertis
for bids for the construction of said improvement, and to make report
of same to the General Council, together with its recommendation for
the acceptance of any of same, or the rejection of all of same.
SECTION 8.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
land after its passage, approval and publication.
