THEREFOR BY THE CITY ENGINEER AT THE COST OF THE ABUTTING PROPERTY 0'+'NERS
AND PROVIDING THAT SUCH COSTS 1;AY BE PAID UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THE TEN:

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GENEHi.L COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KETTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
Tiaat 13th Street from the North property line of
Jefferson Street to the north property line of Monroe Street; Monroe
Street from the west property line of 12th Street to the east property
line of 13th Street; 12th Street from the south property line of Broadwayto
the north property line of Kentucky Avenue, in the City of Paducah, Kentucky,
be improved by the construction of a hard surface roadway, -all in accor-
dance with the plans and specifications provided therefor by the City
Engineer, and which plans and specifications are on file in the office of
said Engineer, and are now referred to and made part hereof as if specifi
cally set forth herein.
2ECTION 2.
Said construction shall be made under.the direction
and supervision of the City Engineer and Board of Public .'Iorks of said
City, and shall commence at the time desi nated by contract for the per-
formance thereof, and be completed on or before the 1927.

SECTION 3.
The cost of such construction shall be paid for
wholly by the property owners fronting or abutting thereon, to be appor-
tioned to and assessed against the property and property owners abutting
thereon, according to the number of abutting feet thereon, except that
portion to be paid by the City of Paducah, es required by law.
SECTION 4.
The Contractor awarded the contract for the improve-
ment herein provided for, shall be paid in accordance with the terms and
provisions of Sections 3096, 3100, 3101 and 3102 of the Kentucky Statutes!
NO. 815.
SECTION 5.

The 1,`ayor of said City is hereby authorized and directed
to execute contract and accent bona required to be executed by the
contractor awarded the contract for such construction.
SECTION 6.
Bids shall be received for the improvement herein provid
for, in accordance with the plans and specifications made and provid
therefor by the City Engineer, and the contract therefor shall be
awarded to 'the lowest and best bidder, except the right is reserved t
reject any and all bids within the discretion of the General Council,
and it may accent any bid .which appears to be for the best interest
of said City.
SECTION 7.
The Board of Public ;:orks is hereby authorized and
directed to advertise for bids for the construction of saidiimprove-
ment, and to make report of same to the General Council.; together
with its recommendation for the acceptance of any of said bids, or
the rejection of 8.11 of same.
SECTION S.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its passage, approval and publication.
