AN ORDINANCE CREnTING THE OFFICE; OF COLORED CITY PHYSICIAN
IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND PRESCRIBING THE QUALIFICATIONS
AND COR"PENSATION OF !�i,ID OFFICE.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GENERAL COUNCIL OF' THE CITY OF'
PAEUCAH, KENTUCKY:
II SECTION 1.
That the office of Colored City Physician is hereby created;
and no one shall be eligible to said office who is hot a graduate of
medicine and duly authorized to engap7e in the practice of medicine
under the laws of the State of Kentucky.
jSECTION 2.
Said Colored City Physician shall be elected by the General
Council;,—shall have chsrce oftreating all indigent's negro citizens

of said City upon the call of the T,ayor or Health Office, or other

persons desienated by the Board of Health, and said Colored City
Physician shall be under the supervision and control of said Board
of Health and shall make monthly reports showing in detail the calls
and services performed by him. Such officer shall be chosen for the
term of one year by the General Council of said City and shall hold
office until his successor shall have q>>alified.
SECTION 3.
The salary of said Colored City Physician shall be Fj900.00
per year, payable monthly.
SECTION 4.
All ordinances and parts of ordinance in conflict ta'ith
this ordinance are hereby repealed, and this ordinance shall take effect
