WHEREAS, The General Council of the City of Paducah, Kentucky,

has heretofore, to -wit:
On the 5th day of August, 1926, adopted an ordinance entitled
I
"Aid ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE GOTSTRUCTION OF CONCRETE AND CURB
EITHER OF CONCRETE OR GRGNITE ACCORDING TO THE BID ACCEPTED, TOGETHER TITH
i ALL NECESSARY MANHOLL'S, INTAKES, CATCH BASINS AND SE/;ER PIPE CONNECTIONS
ON 24TH STREET FROI THE NORTH PROPERTY LINE OF JEFFERSON STREET TO THF.
SOUTH PROPERTY LINE OF IYONROE STREET, IN THE CI1^.Y OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY,

IN ACCORDANCE '.'.•ITH TIIE PLkES AND SPECIFICATIONS PROVIDED THEREFOR BY THE
CITY ErGI'NEER, AT THF. COST OF THE ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS, AND PROVIDING.
THAT THE COST OF SUCH CONSTRUCTION YAY BE PAID IN ACCORDANCE "iITH THE
PROVISIONS OF THF' TEN YEAR PAYMENT PLAN"; and,
77iEREAS, it was provided in such ordinance that the cost
of construction of said concrete drive -ways, curb and gutter be paid for
by the abutting property owners on both sides of said street, except
that portion to be paid by the City of Paducah as required by law; and,
'WHEREAS, pursuant to said ordinance a contract was entered
into on the 24th day of September, 1926, between George W. Katterjohn

& Son, of Paducah, Kentucky, and the City of Paducah, Kentucky, For the
construction of same; and,
WHEREAS, said contract has been completed and duly acceptld
i
by the General Council on the 1st day of November, 1926, pursuant to
recommendation of the Board of Public Works of said City: NOW, THEREFORE
i
BE IDT ORDAINED BY THE GENERAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That all property on both sides of 24th Street from thel
northtproperty line of Jefferson Street to the south property line of
Monroe Street, in the 0JY of Paducah, Kentucky, be, and the sane is,

hereby assessed for the cost of construction of concrete driveway, curb
and gutter as follows:
Concrete curb, curved, at
Concrete gutter at 651 per lineal foot.
Concrete curb, straight at 401 per lineal foot.
Expansion joints, j X 6�for curb,at 12 per lineal foot.
Cost of expansion I X 712 gutter,at 14.,

as particularly shown by City Engineer's estimate of said cost, on
file in the office of the City Engineer, which is now referred to and
made part hereof.
SECTION 2.
it That the funds derived from the assessment of said proper

shall be used for the purpose of paying off the special tax bills
issued aE-sinst said property, or such bonds as may be issued by the
City of Paducah, Kentucky, pursuant to Section 3101 of the Kentucky
Statutes.
SECTIOD 3.
That pursuant to Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statutes,
said tax assessn-ents may, at the option of the property owner, be
payable in cash without interest within thirty days from the date of
:;passage and publication of this ordinance, or in ten annual installments,
,provided the property owners within thirty days enter into a written
agreement with said City, in accordance with the provisions of said
Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statutes.

SECTION 4.
In order to provide the funds for the immediate paymenit
of the cost of that portion of the special assessments herein provided'
for, which may be paid on the ten ,year installment plan, as herein-
above provided, the City of Paducah may issue and sell improvement i
bonds, and to secure the payment of such bonds, there is hereby
pledged such taxes and liens on the property assessed herein for the
payment of principal and interest, but such bonds shall not be sold
I
for less than par, and the proceeds derived therefrom shall be applied'
.exclusively to the payment of the cost of such construction as herein-
.
above provided; and such bonds, if issued, shall bear interest and
shall be payable in accordance with the provisions of Section 3101 of
i
the Kentucky Statutes.
SECTION 5.

This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
