BE IT ORD INED BY THR GENERAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PADUC +H, K7NVAUKY: SECTION 1. That :lashington Street, from the cast property line of 7th Street to the west property line of 6th Street, 6th Street from the south property line of -ashington Street to the north property line of Clark i Street, in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be improved by the construction, of a hard surface roadway, together with all necessary manholes, intakes, I catch basins and sewer pipe connections, in accordance with the plans and specifications provided therefor by the City Engineer, and which plan and specifications will appear on file in the office of said engineer and are now referred to and made part hereof as if specifically set forth herein. SECTION 2. Said construction shall be made under the direction and supervision of the City Engineer and the Board of Public works of said City, and shall commence at the time designated by contract for the per- formance thereof and be completed on or before December 10th, 1926. SECTION 3. The cost of such construction, assessable against, the prone owners, shall be paid for wholly by said property owners fronting; or abut thereon, to be apportioned to and assessed against the property and prope owners abutting thereon,-ccording to the number nf abutting feet, except, that portion to be -aid by the Uity of Paducah as required by law. SKCTION 4. The contractor awarded the contract for the improvement I herein provided for shall he paid in accordance with the terms and provisions of Sections 3096, 3100, 3101 and 2102 of the Aentucky Statutes. NO. 719. 00. 719. SECTION 5. The Mayor of said City is hereby authorized and directed to execute contact and accept bond required to be executed by the co tractor awarded the contract for such improvement. ECTION o. Bids shall be .received for the improvement herein provided for in accordance with the plans and specifications made and provided therefor by the Cita Lngineer, anl the contract therefor sha: be awarded to the lowest and best bidder, except the right is express: reserved to reject any and all bids within the discretion of the General Council, and said General Council may accept any bid which aunears to be for the best interest of said City. S ATION 7. The Board of Public '.orks is hereby authorized and directed to advertise .for bids for the construction of such improveme; I and to make renort of same to the General Council, together with its recommendation for the acceptance of any of same or the rejection of i' all of same. SECTION 8. j This ordinance shall take effect and be in force fr and after its passage, approval and Publication. 0.
