AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF JEFFE-3SON
STREET FROT. THE WEST PROPERTY LINE OF 17TH STREET, (FOUNTAIN AVENUE), TO
THE 7,'E:ST PROPERTY LINE OF 25TH STREET, IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY,
BY THE CONSTRUCTION OF :,'11ARD SURFACE)ROAD=LYAY, TOGETHER WIT[I :+LL NECESSARY
MAN-HOLTS, INTAKES, CATCH BASINS, DRIVE '.SAYS ,ND SEVER PIPE CONNECTIONS,
AND ALSO THE RECONST UCTION OF CURBS AND GUTTERS, AND THE RE -SETTING OF
CURBS WHEREVER NECESSARY, AS SHO'311 ON PLAITS, ALL IN ACCORDANCE YJITH PLANS
M'1D SPECIFICATIONS PROVIDED THEREFOR BY Trii11 CITY ENGINEER, AT THE COST OF
THE ABUTTING PROPERTY 0'"RJERS, AND PROVIDING THAT THE COST OF SUCIi CON-
STRUCTION KA',' BE PAID IIT ACCORDATdCE '.7ITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE TEN YEAR
PAYEENT PLAN.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GENERAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That Jeffe,,son Street from the .vest property line of
17th Street, (Fountain Avenue} to the crest property line of 25th Street,
in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be improved by the construction of a
hard surface road -way, to!*ether with necessary man -holes, intakes, catch
basins and sewer connections, and also the reconstruction of curbs end
gutters thereon, wherever necessary, and also the construction and setting

of curbs of such portions thereof, as shown on the plans, u11 in accordanc
with the plans and specifications provided therefor by the City Engineer
and which plans and specifications are on file in the office of said
Engineer, and are now referred to and made part hereof as if specifically �
set forth herein.
SECTION 2.
Said construction shall be made un der the direction and
supervision of the City Engineer and Board of Public !':orks of said City,
and shall commence at the time designated by contract for the performanc
thereof, end be completed on or before December the 10th, 1926.
SECTION 3.
The cost of such construction shall be paid for wholl
by the property holders fronting or abutting thereon, to be apportioned
to and assessed against the property and property owners abutting there-'
on, according to the number of abutting feet 'thereon, except that portion
to be paid by the City of Paducah, as required by law.
SECTIOPT 4. ,
The contractor awarded the contract for the
improvement herein provided .for, shall be paid in accordance with the terms
and provtsions of Sections 3096, 3100, 3101 and 3102 of the Kentucky
Statutes.

Sr,,CTION 5.
The Mayor of said City is hereby authorized -nd directed
to execute contract and accent bond required to be executed by the
Contractor awarded the contract for such construction.
SECTION 6.
Bids shall be received for the improvement herein
provided for, in accordance with the plans and specifications made
and provided therefor by the City Engineer, and the contract therefor
shall be awarded to the lowest and best bidder, except the right is
reserved to reject any and all bids within the discretion of the
General Council, and it may accent any bid which appears to be for
the best interest of said City.

SECTION 7.
The Board of Public Works is hereby authori-,ed and
directed to advertise for bids for the construction of said improve-
ment, and to make report of same to the General Council, together
with its recommendation for the acceptance of any of said bids, or
the rejection of all of same.
SECTION S.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage, approval and publication.
