BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GENER:L COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF r PADUCAH, KEPITUOKY: SECTION 1. That 6th Street from the south property line of Tennessee Street to the west property line of Broad Street; Broad Street from the east property line of 6th Street to the south properti; line of Bridge Street, in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be improved by the construction of a hard surface roadway, and curb and gutter I where not now provided, as particularly shown on plans, together i with all necessary manholes and intakes, sewer and drain pipes and drive -ways, in accordance with the plans and specifications provided therefor by the City Engineer, and which plans and specifications arel i on file in the office of the City Engineer, and are now referred to J and made part hereof as if specifically set forth herein. SECTION 2. Said construction shall be made under the direction/ and supervision of the City Engineer and the Board of Public ',forks off I said City, and shall commence at the time designated by contract for I the performance thereof and be completed on or before December 10th, 1926. SECTION 3. The cost of such construction shall be paid for wholly by the property owners fronting or abutting thereon, to be . apportioned to and assessed against the property and property owners h abutting thereon, according to the number of abutting feet, except that portion to be paid by the City of Paducah as required by law. NO. 694. SECTION 4. The contractor awarded the contract for the imnrovement herein provided for shall be paid in accordance with the terms and pro- visions of Sections 3096, 3100, 3101 and 3102 of the I{entucky Statutes. SECTION 5. I The Mayor of said City is hereby authorized and directed to execute contract and accept bond required to be executed by the contractor; awarded the contract for such imnrovement. SECTION 6. Bids shall be received for the improvement herein provided ifor, in accordance with the plans and specifications made and provided Itherefor by the City Engineer, and the contract therefor shall be awarded to the lowest and best bidder, except the right is expressly reserved to 'reject,any and all bids within the discretion of the General Council, and 1lsaid General Council may accept any bid which appears to be for the best interest of said City. SECTION 7. The Board of Public Works is hereby authorized and directe to advertise for bids for the construction of said innrovements, and to make report of same to the General Council, together with its recommendatj for the acceptance of any of same or the rejection of all of same. SECTION B. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from Land after its passage, approval and publication.
