BE IT•ORDAINED BY THE GENERAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTTJCI;Y;
SECTION 1.
That 13th Street from the North property line of
Jefferson Street to thr '?est property line of 71illett Street, in the
City of Paducah, Kentucky, be improved by the construction of a hard

surface road -xray, and necessary curbs and gutters, together witn all
necessary man -holes, intakes and drainage co:noctions and drive sways,
in accordance :with the plans and specifications provided therefor by
the City Engineer, and which plans and specifications will appear on
ii file in the office of said-n;;ineer, and are now referred to and made
a part hereof as if specifically set forth herein.
SECTION 2,
Said construction shall be made under the direction and

supervision of the City Engineer and Board of Public '.7orks of said City,
and shall commence at the time designated by contract for the performance
thereof and be completed on or before December 1, 1926.
Si,,CTION 3,
The cost of' sWh construction shall be paid for wholly li
by the property o+..,ners fronting or -butting thereon, to be apportioned

to acid assessed against the property and the property owners abutting I
thereon, occcrding to the number of abutting feet thereon, except that'
portion to be paid by the City of Paducah as required by law,, I
SECTION 4,
The contractor awarded the contract for the improvement
hexein provided for shall be paid in accordance with the terms and
Prov isions of Section 3096, 3100, 3101 and 3102 of the Kentucky
Statutes.
SECTION 5.
The Mayor of said City is hereby authorized and directed to
execute contract and accept: bond required to be executed by the contractor•
awarded the contract for such construction.
SECTION 6.
Bids shall be received for the improvement herein provided for,
in accordance with the plans and specifications made and provided therefor
by the City Engineer, end the contract therefor shall he awarded to the
lowest and best bidder, except the right is reserved to reject any and all
bids within the discre=tion of the General Council, and it may accept any

bid which appears to be for the best interest of said City.
SFCTIOI, 7.
The Board of Public Works is hereby authorized to advertise for
bids for the construction of said improvement, and to make report of same.
to the General Council, together with its recommendation for the acceptanFe
of any of same, or the rejection of all of same.
This ordinance snall take effect and be in force from and after
its passe, approval arld publication.
