together with all necessary manholes, intakes and sewer pipe connections,
as shown by the City Engineer's estimate of same, except that portion to
be paid by the City of Paducah, and providing that said assessment may be
paid in 10 annual installments, being one each year for a period of 10
years.
WHEREAS, the General Council of the City of Paducah has heretofore,

to -wit: on the 4th day of September 1924, adopted an ordinance entitled I
"AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF CONCRETE SIDEWALKS AND
GUTTERS, AND CURBS OF EITHER CONCRETE OR GRANITE, ACCORDING TO THE BID
ACCEPTED, INCLUDING ALL INTERSECTIONS NOT HERETOFORE CONSTRUCTED, AS
SHOWN BY THE PLANS OF THE CITY ENGINEER THEREFOR: TOGETHER WITH ALL
NECESSARY MANHOLES, INTAKES, CATCH BASINS, CAST IRON DRAIN PIPES AND SEtJ
PIPE CONNECTIONS, ON THE FOLLO`;lING NAMED STREETS, TO -WIT: ON THE SOUTH
SIDE OF BURNETT STREET FROM THE ',ti'EST.PROPERTY LINE OF 10TH STREET TO THE

OF SAID CITY, AT THE COST OF THE ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS, AND PROVIDING
THAT THE COST OF SPJIE MAY BE PAID IN ACCORDANCE 'WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THEM
10 YEAR PAYMENT PLAN"; AND,
WHEREAS, In accordance with said ordinance it was provided

;that the cost of construction of said concrete sidewalks, curbs and gutters
be paid for by the abutting property olmers on both sides thereof, except
NO. 249.
ithat portion to be paid by the City of Paducah, Kentucky, as required
r by law; and,
17HEREAS, pursuant to said ordinance a contract was entered
into on the 5th day of September 1924, between Geo. W. Katterjohn, Jr.,
of Paducah, Kentucky, and said City, for the construction thereof;
and,
WHEREAS, said contract has been completed except that
portion of same which has been held up by order of the City Engineer
of said City on account of the fill required, and for the completion
of which the time has been extended by order of said General Council,

and the same has been duly accepted by the General.Council on the 19th
day of January 1925, pursuant to the recommendation of the Board of
Public Works of said City:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GENERnL COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF PADUCj�H , KENTUCKY:

SECTION 1.
All property on the South side of Burnett Street from the

i. west property line of 10th Street to the east curb line of 14th Street;
on the north side of Burnett Street from the West curb line of 10th
Street to a point where Burnett Street intersects the north property
i'
line of Trimble Street; both sides of 13th Street from the north
property line of Burnett Street to the south property line of Faxon
Street; both sides of 13th Street from the north property line of
Jefferson Street to the south curb line of Trimble Street, in the
City of Paducah, Kentucky, as shown by the City Engineer's estimate
of cost of same, be and the same is hereby assessed for the cost of
ij construction of concrete sidewalks, curbs and gutters, together with
all necessary man holes, intakes, catch basins, cast iron drain pipes;

and sewer pipe connections, as follows:
Concrete Sidewalks- $0.189 per Square foot

Concrete Driveways, 30� per square foot.
4" Cast Iron Pipe, W per lineal foot.
Concrete Curb straight, 63V per lineal foot.
Concrete Curb Circular, 73� per lineal foot.
Expansion Joints and
Incidentals, $0.0584193 per abutting foot.
As particularly shown by said estimate of said cost in thei
Office of said City Engineer, now referred to and made part hereof.
SECTION 2.
ii That the funds from the assessment of said property shall
be used for the purpose of paying off the special tax bills issued
against said property, or such bonds as may be issued by the City
of Paducah, Kentucky, pursuant to Section 3101 of the Kentucky
Statutes.
No. 250.
SECTION 3.
That pursuant to Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statutes, said
tax assessment may, at the option of the property owners, be payable in
cash without interest within 30 days from the date of the passage and
publication of this ordinance, or in ten annual installments, provided
the property owner shall before the expiration of said 30 days enter into
an agreement in writing with said City, in accordance with the provisions
of Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statutes.
SECTION 4.
In order to provide a fund for the immediate payment of the cost
of that portion of the special assessment herein provided for, which may
be paid for on the installment plan, as hereinbefore provided, the City
of raducah, Kentucky, may issue and sell improvement bonds, and to secure
the payment of such bonds there is hereby pledged such taxes and liens
on the property assessed herein for the nayment of the principal and
interest, but such bonds shall not be sold for less than par, and the
proceeds derived therefrom shall be applied exclusively to the payment
of the cost of said construction as hereinbefore provided, and such
bonds, if issued, shall bear interest and shall be payable in accordance
with the provisions of Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statutes as amended
by Act of 1910.
SECTION 5.
This ordinance shall take effect and'be in force from its
passage, record and publication.
