AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF CONCRETE
SIDO.'L,LKS, CURBS AND GUTTERS, TOGETHER l?ITH ALL NECESSARY MANHOLES, INTAKES,
CATCH BASINS AND SEVIER PIPE CONNECTIONS ON BOTH SIDES OF 14TH STREET FROM
THE NORTH PROPERTY LINE OF JEFFERSON STREET TO THE SOUTH PROPERTY LINE OF
MONROE STREET, IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS PREPARED THEREFOR BY THE CITY ENGINEER OF SAID

CITY, AT THE COST OF THE ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS, AND PROVIDII'IG TIiAT SAVE
MAY BE PAID UNDER THE 10 YEAR PAYMENT PLAN.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GENERAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY.
SECTION 1.
That concrete sidewalks, curbs and gutters, together with all
necessary manholes, intakes, catch basins and sewer i)ipe-connections be
constructed on both sides of 14th Street from the north property line of
Jefferson Street to the south property line of Monroe Street, in the City
of Paducah, Kentucky, in accordance with the plans and specifications
provided therefor by the City Engineer of said City, and which plans and
specifications are hereby referred to and.made part hereof as if specifically
set forth herein.
SECTION 2.
I' Said improvement shall be made under the direction and
supervision of the City Engineer and the Board of Public works of said
City, and shall be commenced at the time designated by contract for the

performance thereof and completed on or before December 10th, 1924.
SECTION 3.
The cost of such construction shall be paid for whblly
i
by the property owners fronting or abutting thereon, to be apportioned to
and assessed against the property and the property owners abutting thereon,
according to the number of abutting feet, except that portion to be paid
by the City of Paducah as required by law.
SECTION 4.
The contractor awarded the contract for the work herein
provided shall be pal Inn'"o400"l"ACe with the provisions of Sections 3096,
3100, 3101 and 3102 of the Kentucky Statutes.

SECTION 5.
The Mayor of said City is hereby authorized and directed to
execute all written contracts required of the successful bidder for
the construction of said improvement as required by law.
SECTION 6.
Bids shall be received for the improvement herein provided
for according to the plans, specifications and profile furnished
by the City Engineer of said City, and the contract therefor shall
be awarded to the lowest and best bidder, except the right is ex-
pressly reserved to reject any and all bids within the discretion of
the Board of Public Works and the General Council, and said General

I Council may accept any bid which appears to be for the best interest
of said City. i
SECTION 7.
jI The Board of Public 71orks is hereby authorized and directed
;� to advertise for bids for the construction of said improvement,
which bids said Board is directed to report to the General Council,
together with its recommendation for the I acceptance of any of same '
or the rejection of all of same.
SECTION 8.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
its passage, approval and publication,
