BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GENERAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY. SECTION 1. That the South side of Burnett Street from the west property line of 10th Street to the east curb line of 14th Street, and the north side of Burnett Street from the west curb line of 10th Street to a point where Burnett Street intersects the north property line of Triiable Street; both sides of 13th Street from the north property line of Burnett Street to Ahe south property* line of Faxen Street; both sides of Flournoy Street from the west property line of 12th to the east property line of 13th Street; both sides of 13th Street from the north property line of Jefferson Street to the south curb line of Trimble Street, in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be and the same are hereby ordered to be improved by the construction of concrete sidewalks and gutters, and curbs of either granite or concrete, as may be determined upon receipt of bids as the best and most economical material therefor, including all intersections not heretofore constructed, as particularly shown on the plans of the City Engineer, provided therefor, together with all necessary manholes, intaltes, catch basins, sewer pipe connections and cast iron drain pipes, in accordance with the plans, specifications and grade .furnished by the Uity Engineer of said city, which plans, specifications and proSile are.on file in the office of said City Engineer, and are hereby referred tD and made part hereof, as if spf6cifically set forth herein. No. Ordinances SECTION 2. Said work shall be performed under the direction and supervision of said City Engineer and the Board of Public Ctorks of said City, and shall be counaenaed at the time designated by contract therefor, and completed on or before December the 1st, 1924. SECTION 3. The cost of such construction shall be paid for wholly by the property owners abutting or fronting thereon, to be apportioned and assessed against the property and the property owners thereon according to the number of abutting feet thereon. SECTION 4. The contractor awarded the contract for the work herein shall be paid therefor in the manner provided by Section 3096, 3100, 3101 and 3102 of the Kentucky Statutes. SECTION 5. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute all written contracts and accept any bond required of the successful bidder for the construction of said improvement, in accordance with the laws applicable thereto. SECTION 6. Bids shall be received for the construction of said improvement according to the plans and specifications made and provided therefor by said City Engineer,and tho contract for the doing of such work shall be awarded to the lowest and best bidder, except the right is expressly r, reserved to reject any and•aL bids within the discretion of the General Council, but any bid that is deemed for the best interest of said City may. be accepted. SECTION 7. The Board of Public 1Eorks of said City is hereby authorized and directed to advertise for bids for the construction of said improve- ment, which bids said board is hereby directed to report to the General Council, together with its recommendation for the acceptance of any of same, or the rejection of all of same.
