AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR TIME CONSTRUCTION OF COI7CRETE SIMAALKS,
GUTTERS AND CURBS OF CONCRETE, OR GRANITE, ACCORDING TO THE BID ACCEPTED, s
TOGETHER !'LITH ALL NECESSARY MANHOLES, INTAKES, CATCH BASINS AND SEWER
PIPE CONNECTIONS ALONG THE SOUTH SIDE OF CALDWELL STREET AND THE EAST
SIDE OF CALD',;'ELL AVENUE, IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AS FOLLOWS:
"BEGINNING AT A POINT ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF CALDWELL
STREET 350 FEET BEST OF THE 'JEST PROPERTY LINE OF 12TH
STREET, AND RUNNING THENCE ALONG THE SOUTH SIDE OF CALDWELL
STREET APPROXII.TELY 136 FEET TO THE INTERSECTION OF CALDWELL
STREET AND CALD'rJELL AVENUE (13TH STREET), THENCE ALONG THE
EAST SIDE OF CALD'.:'ELL AVENUE (13TH STREET) ABOUT 1336 FEET
TO THE INTERSECTION OF CALDWELL AVENUE '.7ITH UNION OR BROYJN
STREET, EXCEPTING TIiEREFROM THE LOYJ GROUND ON CALDWELL AVENUE
LYING BETFJEEN STATION 12 x 07 and 15 x 63, BEINIG A DIS`.CANCE OF
356 FEET, AT THE COST OF THE ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS AND PRO::
VIDING THAT SAME MAY BE PAID FOR UPON THE 10 YEAR PAYMENT PLAN."
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GENERAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF F'.DUCAH,
KENTUCKY.

SECTION 1.
That concrete sidewalks, gutters, and curb Df concrete or
granite according to the bid accepted, together wit!: all necessary man-
holes, intakes, catch basins and sewer pipe connections, along the South!
side of Caldwell Street and the east side of Caldwell Avenue in the City'
of Paducah, Kentucky, be constructed on said Streets as follows:
"Begin#ing at a point on the South side of Caldwell
Street, 350 feet West of the '.West property line of 12th Street,
and running thence along the South side of Caldwell Street 136
feet to the intersection of Caldwell Street and Cs.ldwell Avenue
(13th Street), thence along the east side of Caldwell Avenue
(13th Street) about 1336 feet to the intersection of Caldwell
Avenue with Union or Brown Street, excepting therefrom the lour
ground along Caldwell Avenue, lying betty-een stations 12 x 07 and
15 x 63, being about 356 feet, in accordance with the plans,
specifications and grade furnished therefor by the City Engineer
of said City, and which are now referred to and made part hereof
as if specifically set forth herein."
SECTION 2.
Said improvement shall be constructed under the direction
and supervision of the City Engineer, and Board of Public [Works of
said City, and shall be commenced at the time designated by contract .for
the performance thereof and completed on or before December the 10th,
1924.
SECTION 3. `y
The cost of such contraction shall be paid for wholly by
the property owners fronting or abutting thereon to be apportioned to
and assessed against the Property and property .owmersart't
ing thereon,
according to the s ber. of abutting feet tueroon, except that portion
to be paid for by.the City -of Paducah, as required -by law.

SECTION 4.
That the contractor awarded the contract for the work herein
shall be paid as provided by Section 3096, 3100„ 3101 and 3102 of the
Kentucky Statutes.
SECTION S.
The Mayor of said City is hereby authorized and directed
to execute all written contracts required of the successful bidder for the
construction of said improvement, as by law required.
SECTIOIi 6.
Bids shall be received for the improvement herein provided
for according to the plans, specifications and profile made and provided for
by the City Engineer of said City, and .the contract- therefor shall be
awarded to the lowest and best bidder, except the right is expressly
reserved to reject any and all bids within the discretion of the Board of
Public Works and the General Council, and said General Council may accept
any bid, which appears for the best interest of said City.
SECTION 7.
The Board of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed
to advertise for bids for the construction of said improvement, which
bid said Board is directed to report to the General Council, together
with its recommendation for the acceptance of any of same, or the rejection
of all of same.
SECTION 8.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from its
passage, approval and publication.
