VMEREAS, the General Council of the City of Paducah, Kentucky,
has heretofore -to -crit: On the.17th day of June, 1927, and the 25th day
of July, 1927, respectively, adopted the following ordinances:

ATdD '.:RPE -ZEAS, in accordance writh said ordinances, it was prov-
ided that the cost of construction of said siderrallcs, curbs and gutters,
and the necessary manholes, intakes, catch basins, driveways and sewer
pipe connections, be paid for by the abuttinS property owners on both sides
thereof, except that portion to be paid by the City of Paducbh, hentucky,

as required by lava; and,
i'lHEREAS, pursuant to said ordinance, a contract was entered
into on the 8th day of August, 1927, between J.M. Rouse and the City
of Paducah, Kentucky, for the construction 'thereof; and,
;iB REAS, said work has been completed and duly accepted by
the General Council on the 5th day of December, 1927, Id01:1, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY TME GENERAL COUNCIL OF `1'IP_3 CITY OF
PADUC.AH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That all property on both sides of Broadway from the west curb
line of 25th Street to the east property line of 28Th Street, except
khat portion already cons't-ruc'ted; on both sides of Greer Street from:
'.1_e north property line of 12th Street to the south property -line of
11th Street; west side of Bridge Street from the north property line
of Flora Street to the south prose rty line of Knkoad Avenue; east silo
of Bridge Street, from the north property line of Clements Street to
the south property line of Ja.crott Street, in the City of Paducah,

Kentucky, as shown by the City Engineer's estimate of same, be, and
the same is, hereby assessed for the cost of constrction of concrete
sidewalks, curbs and gutters, as follows:
Concrete sidevialk.19'-1 per square foot,
Concrete gutter .38; per lineal foot
Concrete driveways .22V per square foot
4" Cast Iron Pipe.30� per linear foot
Concrete curb straight .49per linear foot
Concrete curb curved .68� per linear foot
Cost of expansion joints and extra

Interest Cost, s?O.010617178 per dollar of
construction cost,
Engineering cost, +0.044143651 per dollar of
construction cost,
as particularly shown by said estimate,of such cost in the office of
the City Engineer, including all necessary manholes, intakes, catch
basins, sewer pipe connections and cast iron drain pipes used in such!
construction, now referred to and made part hereof.
SECTION 2.
That the funds derived from the assessment of said property
shall be used for the purpose of paying off the special tax bills is -i
sued against said property, or such bonds as may be issued by the City
of Paducah, Kentucky, pursuant -to Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statutos.
SECTION 'r3.
That pursuant to Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statutes, said
tax assessment may, at the option of the property ovmers, be paid in
cash without interest within thirty days after the date of passage and
publication of this Ordinance, or in ten annual installments, provided
the property ormers within thirty days enter into a written agreement
I with said City:, in accordance with the provisions of said Section 3101

of the Isentucky Statutes.
SECTION 4.
In order to,prvide the funds for the immediate payment of the cost
of that portion of the special assessments herein provided for, -nhich may

be paid in the ten year installment plan,. as hereinabove provided, the C3,y
of Paducah may issue and sell improvement bonds, and to secure the payment
of such bonds, there is hereby pledged such taxes and liens on the prop-
erty assessed herein for the payment of the principal and interest, but
such bonds shall not be sold for less than par and the proceeds derived
therefrom shall be applied exclusively to the payment of the cost of such
construction as hereinabove provided; and such bonds, if issued, shall
bear interest and shall be payable in accordance with the provisions of
Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statutes.
SECTION 5.
This Ordinance shall taste effect and be in force from and after its
passage, approval and publication.
