i! 1.MEREAS, in accordance with said ordinance it was provided
that the cost of construction of said sidewalks, curbs and gutters,
and the necessary manholes, intakes, catch basins, dr�.-,^ways and sow

or pipe connections, be paid for by the abutting property owners on
both sides thereof, ex: cept that portion to be paid by the City of
Paducah, Kentucky, as required by law; and,
t:TIERE:?S, pursuant to said ordinance, a contract was entered
into on the 17th day of TM, 1927, between George W. KatterjoYm & Son,
and the City of Paducah, Kentucky, for the construction thereof; and,,
17HEREAS, said work has been completed and duly accepted by
the General Council on the 5th day of December, 1927, INOI?, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GENERAL COUNCIL OF TIL' CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:

SECTION 1.
That all property on both sides of 9th Street from the south
property line of Tennessee Street to the north curb line of 11orton
Street, except the intersection already constructed at Jones Street;
both sides of 12th Street from the south property line of Jackson
Street to the north property line of Tennessee Street, except; the
intersection alWady constructed at Ohio Street; both sides of Adams

Street from the west property line of 19th Street.to the east property
line of 21st Street; both sides of Clark Street from the west property
line of 19th Street to the east property line of 21st Street; both sides
of Jackson Street from the west property line of 9th Street to the east
property line of 10th Street; both sides of 7th Street from the south.

Street from the south property line of Tennessee Street to the north prop
erty line of Jones Street, in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, as shown by
the City Engineer's estimate of same, be, and the same is, hereby assesse
for the cost of construction of concrete sidewalks, curbs and gutters as
follows:

as particularly shown by said estimate of such cost on file in the office
of the City Engineer, including all necessary manholes, intakes, catch
basins, drivewasys, and sewer pipe connections and cast iron drain pipes
used in such construction, nor referred to and made part hereof.
SECTION 2.
That the funds derived from the assessment of said property
be used for the purpose of paying off the special tax bills issued aga
said property, or such bonds as may be issued by the City of Paclueah,
tucky, pursuant to 6ection 3101 of the Kentucky Statutes.
SECTION 3.
That pursuant to Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statutes, said

tax assessment may, at the option of the property owners, be paid in
cash without interest within thirty days after the date of passage
and publication of this Ordinance, or in 'ten annual installments, pro-!
vided the property owners within thirty days enter into a written ag-
greoment with said City, in accordance with the provisions of said
Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statutes.
SECTION 4.
In order to provide the 'u-nds for the immediate payment of the -11
cost of that portion of the spe6ial assessments herein provided for,
which may be paid on the ten year installment plan, as hereinabove
;provided, the City of Paducah may issue and sell improvement bonds,
and to secure the payment of such bonds, there is hereby pledged such
;taxes and liens on the property assessed herein for the payment of
1principal and interest, but such bonds shall not be sold for less than
par and the proceeds derived therefrom shall be applied exclusively to
I'the payment of the cost of such construction as hereinabove provided;

,.,and such bonds, if issued, shall bear interest and shall be payable in
l accordance with the provisions of "ection 3101 of the Kdntucky Statutes.

SECTION 5.

This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after
its passage, approval and publication.
