BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GENERvL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PiDUCAH,,
SECTION 1 -
That Rock Alley which runs from Jefferson Street towards
Broadway Street, between 3rd Street and 4th Street, in the City of
Paducah, itentucky, colfLmencing on the South line of Jefferson Street and
running in a uniform width of 16 feet and 6 inches towards Broadway
Street a distance of 173 feet and 3 inches; thence in a straight line
towards Broadway Street 20 feet; thence at right angles and towards 4th
Street 38 feet and 3 inches; thence at right angles and towards Jefferson
Street 20 feet; thence at right angles and towards 3rd Street 21 feet
and 9" to the nest line of said Alley, be constructed of concrete,
together with all necessary manholes, catch basins, intakes and sewer
pipe connections, in accordance with the plans, specifications and pro-
file provided therefor by theCity Engineer of said City, all of which
will appear on file in the office of the City Engineer and are now re-
ferred to and made a part hereof, as is specifically set forth herein.
SECTION 2.
That said construction shall be made under the direction
and supervision of the City Engineer and Board of Public forks, and
shall be commenced at the time designated by contract fbr the performance
of same, and completed on or before December the 1st, 1924.
SECTION 3.
The cost of such construction shall be paid for wholly by
the property owners abutting or fronting thereon, to be apportioned to
and assessed against the property and property owners abutting thereon,
according to the number of abutting feet thereon:

The contractor awarded the contract for the improvement
herein provided for, shall be piLid in accordance with. the terms and

provisionq. of Qeet�o s 3096, 3100 and 3102 of the Kentucky Statutes.

SECTION 5.
The 1.1ayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute all
written contracts and bonds required by law to be executed by the success-
ful bidder.
SECTION 6.
Bids shall be received for the construction of said improvement,
in accordance with the plans, grade and specifications furnished there-
for by the City Engineer of said City, ano the contract therefor shall
be awarded to the lowest and best bidder, except the right is express-
ly reserved to reject any and all bids within the discretion of the
General Council, but it may accept any bid which is deemed for the best
interest of said City.
SECTION, 7.
The Board of Public ';,orks of said City is hereby authorized
and directed to advertise for bids for the construction of said
improvement, which bids said Board is hereby directed to report to the
General Council with its recommendation for the acceptance of any of
same, or for the rejection of all of same.
SECTION 8.
This Ordinance shall taxe effect and be in force after its
Passage, record and publication.
