C=HERE�S, it is deemed expedient and necessary that Thurman
Street, in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be extended from its present
Eastern terminal across private property from Powell Street to I_eyers
Street, in the City of Paducah, Kentucly, and
ti;HERE,-S, it is necessary to go upon and condemn property
belonging to private individuals and corporations in order to construct
or extend.said Thurman Street, as aforesaid, and
WHEREr_S, the said City of Paducah has failed to come to any
agreement with the owners of the property over which said street
should be constructed, as to the value of same, and the said City of
Paducah has been unable to buy the property required for 'the construc-
tion or extension of said street, and
LiHEI.MiS, the extension of said Street from Powell Street to
I-leyers Street will be a great convenience to, and is deemed necessary
for the citizens of the City of Paducah living within the neighborhood
of said proposed street, in order to enable them to go to and from
their daily labor, and the construction thereof has been petitioned for
by a large majority of the citizens residing in said community, now,
therefore,

Section 1. That there be condemned, for the purpose of gonstructin,� a
street or public highway from Powell Street to Lleyers Street, in the
city of Paducah, Kentucky, the hereinafter described three tracts of
land, to -wit:
lst ''ract.
"Being a part of Blocks 28 & 34 of the Thornberry
Survey, as shorn by the plat recorded in D. B. ❑p,v,
page 64, LoCracken Count- Court Clerk's office, and
more particularly described as follov,'s: Beginning on
the South side of Meyers St. 235 ft. lest of a store
on the South side of Lleyers St, corner to Sherrill -
King ISill & Lbr. Co. and the St. Bernard Coal Co.
Thence Southwardly and parallel to OlEments Street
972.5 ft. to the Tlorth line of Campbell St. (now
Yeiser Ave.); thence with the Ilorth line of Yeiser
Ave, towards Clements St. 40 ft.; thence towards
Lleyers St. and parallel to the :first described line
727.5 ft. to the South line of an alley parallel to
and 245 ft. from Meyers St.; thence Eastwardly and
with the South line of said alley towards ::ill St. 35
ft. to the East line of another alley running into
Leyers St.t thence towards I::eyers St. 245 ft. i•.ith
the line of said alley to the Soutii line of Lleyers
St.; thence hastwardly with the South line of I:;eyers

"Being a part of Block 40 of the Thornberry Survey
as shown b; the plat recorded in D. B. "H" page 64,
and also- D. B. 47 page 156 for the later Sub-
division made by I.Iorris Cothran's heirs and more
particularly described as folloc.s:- Beginning on
the South side of Campbell St. (now Yeiser live.)
5 ft. East of where the �Iest line of Thurman St.,
if extended, would strike the South line of
Campbell St. (now Yeiser i:ve.), which point is
718.50 ft. East- of Iiays "ve.; thence Southv:ardly
and parallel to Clements St. 436.4 ft. towards
Pov:ell St. ; thence towards I.lill and parallel to
Iieyers St. 40 ft. • thence towards Campbell St.
(now Yeiser. .ve.)�436.4 ft. to the South side of
Yeiser r:ve.; thence with the South side of Yeiser

3rd Tract.
"Being a part of lot 7r6 of I.iorris Cothran's Sub-
division (see plat in D. B. 47 :x.re 156), 1Lich is
a part of Block 28 of the '-horiberry Survey (see
plat in D. B. "H", pare 64), and more particularly
described as follows:- Beginning on the South
side of Me-ers Street at the corner of a 15 ft.
alley (see' -plat D. B. 47, page 156); thence vrith
the ,est side of said alley 230 ft. towards Campbell
St. (now Yeiser ,ve.) and parallel to elements St.
to the :forth side of another allc-,,- ru using parallel
to I.1eyers St. -+ thence with the I?orth side of this
alley towards Clements St. 20 ft.; thence parallel
with. the first line 230 ft. to the South side of
Ideyers St.; thence with the South line of I.:eyers
St, towards !.Till St. 20 ft. to the point of beginning.
Being part of the property purchased by Annie Barnes
from T. J. Herring Oct. 17, 1912. See Deed Book
104, page 229."
Section 2. That appropriate and necessary steps be ta':en by -the
City of Paducah, in a court of competent jurisdiction, to have the
value of said property fixed, according to la.;, for the purpose of
using sal^e as a street or p-ablic highway.
Section 3. That after the condei.nation of said property, and
the payt:!ent, therefor at the price fixed by the City of Paducah,
same shall be used only as a street or public rirhrray, and shall be
Down and designated as Thurman Street.
Section A. This Ordinance shall tale effect and be in force t
from and after its passa•e..
