Section 1. That the Commissioner of Public Safety of the City of Paducah
is hereby authorized to purchase a motorcycle, at a cost not exceeding
Two Hundred and Sixty (.�2dO.00) Dollars, to be used by the City of
Paducah as-herein4fter set out, or as may be hereafter directed by the
Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah.
Section 2. There shall be employed by the Board of Commissioners of the
City of Paducah an operator for said motorcycle, who shall be a special
police officer of the City of Paducah and who shall give the bond and
take the oath required of special police officers of the City of Paducah..
Section 3. Such operator shall perform such duties as are required of him
by the Commissioner of Public Safety and the Board of Commissioners of
the City of Paducah.
Section 4. He shall receive no salary from the City of Paducah other than
a sum each month equal to one-half of the fines assessed against persons
convicted in the police court of the City of Paducah, growing out of
arrests by said operator, for violation of the laws of the State of
kentucl7j or ordinances of the City of ?aducah controlling or regulating
-
vehicles, including automobiles, operating on the streets, thoroughfares
and public highwa�;s of the City of Paducah.
Section 5. Such operator shall be subject to discharge at any tine by
the Board of Commissioners, i:ith or without cause.
Section 6. The cost of such motorcycle shall be deducted From the appor-
tionment made to the Department of Public Safety, but the Department of
Public Safety shall be reimbursed to the extent of the cost of such
motorcycle out of the first fines collected by reason of and growing out
of the arrests and convictions made by sL:id motorcycle operator.
Section 7. The City shall pay the costs of openM ing, maintaining and up -
keeping said motorcycle, to be charged to the Department of Public

Said operator shall required make all minor rerc-irs on
said motorcycle, including punctures and adjustments, unless otherwise
ordered by the Commissioner of Public Safety or the superior officers of
said operator in the Police Department of said City, and said operator
shall not be permitted to charge any fee for his lwbors in this respect.

Section S. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in :force
from and after its passage and approval.
