';,'HEREAS, The Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky has heretofore, to -wit: on the 23rd day of May, 1921, adopted an
ordinance entitled, "Aid ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF CON-
CRETE SDE73AIKS, CURBS AND GUTTERS, AND ALL NECESSARY LUNHOLE S, INTAKES,
AFD CATCH BASINS ON BO'T'H SIDES OF SOUTH EIGHTH STREET, FROM THE
SOUTH PROF RTY LIME OF HUSBANDS Si'3J 1 TO THE NORTH CURB LIME OF BACMIAN `
STREET, IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AT THE COST OI' THE ABUTTThG PRO-

.7H_REAS, in accordance .lith said Ordinance, it was provided that '
the cost of construction of said sidewa'ks, curbs and gutters, and all
necessary manholes, intakes, sewers, catch basins and driveways, shall be
paid for by the abutting property owners, on both sides thereof, except*
that portion to be paid for by the City of Paducah, as required by law;
and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to said Ordinance, a contract was entered into
by and between Baker & Storri.e, Contractors, of Paducah, Kentucky, and the
City of Iaducah, Kentucky, for the construction thereof; and,
„HMEAS, said contract has been completed, in all respects, and
the work thereof finished and accepted by the Board of Commissioners of the
City of Paducah, Kentucky, on the 25th day of November, 1921, pursuant to
the -recommendation made therefor by the Commissioner of Fublit Affairs, and,
the Engineer's estimate of the cost thereof havins been confirmed; NOW,

SECTION 1.
That all of the property on Doth `Qes of South Eighth Street,
No.na -
Ordinance No.—._
~ ` from the South property line of Husbands Street to the North curb line
of Bachman Street, in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be, ani the same
is hereby assessed the sum of $2.21067 per abutting; foot; for the cost
of construction of said sidewalks, curb:., putters, manholes, intakes,
sewers, catch basins and driveways.
SLCTION 2.
That all of the funds derived from the assessment of said
property aforesaid, shall be used for the purpose of paying off the
special tax bills issued against said property, or such bonds as may be
issued by the City of Paducah, pursuant to Section 3101 of the Kentucky
Statutes.
SECTION 3.
That pursuant to Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statutes, said
assessments may be, at the option of the property owners, payable in
cash within thirty (30) days from the publication of this Ordinance, or
in ten annual installments, as provided in said Section.
SECTION 4.
In order to provide a fund for the immediate paynnent of the
cost of that portion of the said assessment which may be paid on the
Ten Year Payment Ilan, the City of Paducah may issue and sell improve-
ment bonds, and, to secure the payment of said bonds, there is hereby
pledged such taxes aryl liens on the property assessed herein for the
payment of the principal and interest, but such bonds shall not be sold
for less than par and the proceeds thereof applied exclusively in pay-
ment of the improvements hereinbefore mentioned, and such bonds, if
issued, shall bear interest, and shall be payable in accordance -,:ith t
provisions of Sections 3101 and 3102 of the Kentucky Statutes.

This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force after its
passage, record and publication.
