;IHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, has heretofore, to-wit: on the 4th day of April, 1921, adopted

"FIEREAS, in accordance with said Ordinance, it .-jas provided that
the cost of the construction of said streets shall be raid for by the
abutting property owners on both sides thereof, except that portion to be
paid by the City of Paducah, KentLicr.y, and except that portion to be paid
by the Paducah _Rai].:iat7 Company, as -required by law and its Tranchise; and,

and between Yancy F., Johnson, Contractors, of Paducah, _Kentiicl:y, and the
City of Paducah, KentuclI.-y, for tlic construction thereof; and,
.11TEREAS, said contract has been completed in all respects, and
the worl; thereof finished and accepted by the Board of Conimissioi'.1ers of
the City of Paducah, rentuc'y, on the 21st day of September, 1921, pursu-
ant to the recommendation m,.de therefor by t1r-_e Co_',Lrli-s7onor of Public
:affairs, and the ErFrilrieerls Estiy.,iato of the cost thereof having been con-
firmed; now:, therefore,

STICT10 1.
That all of the property on both sides of l7ashington Street from
the hest line of Third Street to the Hast line of Fifth Street, and on
Fourth Street from the South line of I'entuc'7 Avenue to the Vorth line of
lashington Street, and on 11onroe Street from the West line of Second
Street to the �'Iest line of Fifth Street, and on T'r,.ird Street from the
North line of Jefferson Street to the South line of 1.1onroe Street, and on.
Fourth Street from the North line of Jefferson Street to the South line of Ij
..Ionroe Street, be, and the same is hereby assessed, for the cost of the
construction of said streets, the sum of 0.48623. per abutting foot, by
paving same with concrete; ard that all the property on both sides of
Fifth Street, from the North Iiie of Jefferson Street to the South line
of !.[onroe Street, in the City of Paducah, !'cnLiic!:y, bc,and the same is
hereby assessed, for the cost of construction of said street, t'.,e sum of
:4.45853 per abutting foot, by pavin.- same .,,,ith concrete; and the Paducah
Company, now owning and operati-r).rn a line of rajlwa}r on and over
Fourth itroet, which has been improved, as set out herein, is hereby
assessed the sum of .A266.36, its proportionate part of said constructio�.,

by 'the Enrineer's Estimate, which is, ori file in his office, and •aiiieh
est:im- to is made a part hereof; and a tax is hereby levied upon all the
property, assets and franchises of all Minds whatsoever of said Paducah
Railway Company for said sum, which is within the corporate limits of
the City of Paducah, Tentuc],y, and said tax shall be due and payable
at the same time and in the same manner, and shall bear like interest
as the taxes assessed against the abuttinS property.
SECTIO-,' 2.
That all the funds derived from the assessment of said oro-
oerty aforesaid, shall be used for the purpose of -paying off the
Snecial Tax Bills issued against said property, or such bonds as may
be issued b;7 the City of Paducah, T'entucky, pursuant to Section 3101
of the Y_e mucky Statutes. ,
SECT IOIT 3.
That pursuant to Section 3101 of the <.entuclq,r Statutes, said
assessments may be, at t1 -e option_ of the pronert;r overs, payable in
cash within thirty (30) days from the publication of this Ordinance,
or in Ten (10) annual installments, as provided in said section.
SECTIOiI 4.
In order to provide a fund for the immediate payment of the
cost of that portion of said assessment :ihich may be paid on the Ten
Year Payment Plan, the City of Paducah may issue and sell Imnmvement
Bonds; and, to secure the na;,--ant of said bonds, there is hereby
pledged such taxes and liens on the property assessed herein for the
payment of the -principal and interest, but such bonds shall not be
sold for less than par, and the proceeds thereof applied exclusively
in payment of the improvement hereinbefore mentioned, and such bonds,
if issued, shall bear interest, and shall be payable in accordance
with the provisions of Sections 3101 and 3102 of the='entuczy Statutes.

SECT 10 5.
Tris Ordinance shall take effect and be in force after its
passage, record and publication.
