II( BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF 00101ISSION ERS OF THE CITY . OF PADUCAH, =,?TUCXY: SECTION 1. I ' i That Section 2 of an Ordinance granting to the Paducah and Illinois Railroad Company, its successors, assiE�ns or lessees, -the right to construct and maintain railroad tracks, of standard gauge, in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and operate cars, trains and locomotives thereover, which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah on the 29th day of Play, 1916, be amended, revised and re- i ordained, so that the same, ;then so amended, revised and re -ordained, will read as follows, 'to-.vit: I "SECTION 2. The right is hereby granted The Paducah and Illi_ois Railroad Company, its successors, assigns or lessees, to con- struct, maintain and operate two tracks in Norton Street, between the East margin of Fifth Street to the East margin of Third Street, on the North side of the tracks now in Norton Street, between and along said streets, operated by the Nashville, Chattanooga & St. Louis Railway; thence in a Northerly direction, with the right to occupy with such tracks the alleys South of Tennessee Street, between Second and Third Streets, if Second Street were extended; thence across Tennessee Street :with three tracks, and continuing the same general course, with the right to occupy the alley, or so much thereof, as has been heretofore dedicated and accepted by the City of Paducah, in the block between Second and Third and Tennessee and Ohio Streets, across Ohio Street, bet'.ween Second and Third Streets with three tracks; thence across Jackson Street, between Second and Third Streets, :with three tracks; thence across Adams Street, between Second and Third Streets, with eighteen tracl_s; thence across Clark Street, between Second and Third Streets and to occupy the whole thereof, between Second and Third Streets, with structures and tracks; thence to Washington Street, be- tween Second and Third Streets." SECTION 2. That Section 3 of said Ordinance aforesaid be, and the same is hereby repealed. SECTION 3. That Section 11, of said Ordinance aforesaid, be amended, revised and re-ordaired so that the same, when so amended, revised and ' re -ordained, shall read as follows, to -it: "SECTION 11. The rights herein granted to the Paducah and Illinois Railroad Compare are granted in consideration that said Rail- ` No._ Ordinance �i road Company, its successors, assigns or lessees, shall commence, in good faith, the erection of freight depots and warehouses, as provided in this Ordinance, on or before the First day of December, 1921, and shall have completed the erection of such freight depots and warehouses before the 31st day of December, 1922. Said freight depots and warehouses shall be between Second and Third Streets and Washington and Adams Streets, and shall be constructed of brick, concrete or other material equally fire proof, and the first of said. freight depots to be constructed, shall be not less than three hundred (300) feet long, and shall be situated between Tashington and Clark Streets and between Second and Third Streets, and shall be adequate and sufficient to meet the requirements of business, and its expansion, in the receiving and discharging of incoming and out- going freight of all kinds, and the said Railroad Company, its successors, assigns or lessees, shall thereafter erect and construct such additional freight house facilities and warehouses along and contiguous to its lines of tracks within the City of Paducah, as the business of the City of Paducah may demand, and shall be sufficient to meet the conditions, as they arise, in the handling of freight, such additional depots and ware- houses to be erected between Second and Third Streets, and extending con- tinuously in a Southerly direction from Washington Street." SECTION 4. That Section 16, of said Ordinance aforesaid, be, and the same is hereby repealed. SECTI0N 5. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and publication, and upon the acceptance, in vrriting, of the terms hereof by the Paducah and Illinois Railroad Company, on or before the First day of June 1921, which acceptance shall be addressed to the mayor and Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, and shall state that said Railroad Compary accepts the terms and conditions of this amended Ordinance.
